I have a couple of 2wd buggies that have tyres that are shot. Firstly a madcap which tyres seem to be hard to source. If I have a set of egress wheels kicking around, would these work? If I could get some sort of adapter? And if so, would it run ok with fat front tyres?

The back wheels should work fine, as I think the madcap is a cheaper of the astute, which used Egress rear wheels. The Egress front wheels won't work easily, your best bet would be to find alternative front tires, maybe the re-re fox front tires. You can probably squeeze on fat front tires, but I suspect you may get far too much grip on the end if you do that.

If you're going to use Egress rear wheels you might want to see if you can source some Astute front wheels to match.

I presume the tyres are shot because the car is a runner. If that's the case why not fit more modern tamiya 2.2" 2wd wheels, you will have a huge choice of tyres from every current manufacturer.

Are the original madcap wheels 2"? If so Schumacher make quite a few tyres for the vintage 2" wheels.
