Hello,

iv`e wondered if you guys know any Videogames with RC-Cars.

My favorite RC-Games are:

RC Pro AM on NES:

Rc Pro AM 2 on trhe NES:

Buggy Run on the Mastersystem:

3D Ultra Radio Control Racers on PC:

Re-Volt on varoius Systems:

Iwould like to Play a Game that focuses on the RC Part, so i would like to Play a Game like Revolt without Weapuns and realistic physics.

What RC-Games do you know?

The best console I ever got was an Atari 7800 but I remember playing RC Pro AM at friends' houses. I immediately recognized the cars that were modeled for the game as Tamiya Mini 4wds (the 2nd 4wd series with the "cartoonish" short wheelbases that included the Wild Willy Jr.) My friends had no idea what I was talking about or why I was so excited, :lol:. The intro screen plainly has the Mercedes Benz 280 GE and Honda City Turbo depicted. I remember being able to drive a Unimog in gameplay too.

Last week dug up the faithful PlayStation for some nostalgic pinnies B)

PS1 has Taito's RC De Go (RC World magazine & Kyosho sponsored?), which later became ReVolt I think. Also Team Losi RC Racing.

MicroMachines & ChloroQ racing always fun too.

I love the Micro Machine Games.

The Mega Drive (Europe,Japan) & Genesis (America) Version came with an Built in "Multitap" so you can Play the Game with 4 Player simataniously without you have to have get any additional Hardware.

I was thinking if i should Edit the first Post and list all mentioned Games.....

Maybe i do that if i find some Sparetime under my Couch.

These days been running the oldies under emulation by RetroPie B) which is tiny enough to lose under the sofa if we're not careful.

I thought I'd dig out the PlayStation last week just to compare speeds... methink RetroPie might be quicker! Plugged in a PS2 via Composite... gee, RetroPie via HDMI trumps it on sharpness too.

One annoying trait with "true" retro gaming is that their proper controllers haven't aged well... can't buy new ones today, the old ones are wornout unequally. Managed to break my mint condition Sony Analogue (pre DualShock2), plastics have fatigued... ironically it's a Made in Japan unit, whilst China made Sony controllers are soldiering on fine,

I still  have my game consoles from back in the day, and whenever possible, I connect them via the best video signal connections available natively or through modifications. E.G. the PS2 is able to use component video signal and even enables an optional progressive scan mode for some games when used with such a cable.

There was another thread about retro/vintage gaming:

We had a side discussion about RC Pro Am and Buggy Run as a part of this thread:

Thanks man! Ididn`t know these Treads exisit.

Every Gamingconsole has it`s Optimum Settings, E.G. the Playstation:

Playstation 1: - > RGB-Cable -> CRT Television or CRT Beamer (Professional Video Monitors and Brodcasting Video Monitors prefered E.G. Sony PVM or Sony BVM)

Playstation 2 - > RGB-Cable -> CRT Television or CRT Beamer (Professional Video Monitors and Brodcasting Video Monitors prefered E.G. Sony PVM or Sony BVM)
or
Playstation 2 -> Componentcable -> CRT Television (...) or Flatscreen (Plasma, LED, ... )

Playstation 3 -> HDMI -> Flatscreen 1080p

Playstation 4 -> HDMI-> Flatscreen 4k

Here is a small guide for the popular Gaming Consoles.

There is a huge difference between the Monitor and Cable you using. Composite Cables or Antenna Cables are the worst, it`s like running an RC without tyres in big Grass with a 700mA NiCd Battery -> it`s no Fun...

The best Option for Retrogaming is in fact a Raspberry Pi, like WillyChang said. But you have to Play with the Options a lot, you have at least to Play with the Setting half an Hour or so to get a decent Picture. on a original Setup ist Plug and Play.

have been following RetroPie since ~v2ish and yeah the early versions needed some serious tinkering to get them even working ok. I run a pair of Pis back to back, changing 1 setting at a time then comparing performance etc etc. (Best thing with Pi is that everything is on 1 uSD, just pop a different one in like a cartridge of yore and it's a whole new system!)

But the team have been coding hard, and along with Raspbian improvements it all fell into place spectacularly earlier this year... I saw "v4.2 is out" and thought "sigh, let's waste a few weeks building some new setups"... but no, v4.2 ran optimised right from the boot up. Wow... tried a few setting changes, nothing really improves - it just works. Amazeballs! :)

Even more impressed is Rasbian has finally worked out how to talk to 3rd party wifi dongles! Have been accumulating pile of nano dongles, differing chipsets/version/mfgs - most of which Pi2 refused to talk to. Suddenly now they ALL work, double amazement.

PS1 emu rolls pretty smooth now, so out of curiousity wondered how The Real Thing really fared by comparison... now I know.

Wondering where i packed away the Xbox to. ^_^

I quite like motorstorm rc on the PS3 and vita it's good fun and if you use sticks to drive your cars then you can remap the controls to mimic an actual transmitter.

The other thing I really enjoy is VRC pro on the PC but to get the most out of it you'll need to get a USB adaptor that lets you connect a receiver to your computer and you then use your transmitter to drive. It's more of a training tool for racers but it's great for when you can't get to the track or fancy a wee go on some famous tracks.
