This is the TT02B chassis that I built from spare parts / collected parts. My idea was to build it into a Monster truck / truggy, but I am not sure how to proceed forward from this point, or not sure if I should proceed forward.

The wheels are from Hobbyking and are much larger than Lunchbox wheels.

In my backyard testing of the chassis with these wheels, it pulls the horn right off of the servo when making turns due to the extra leverage that these wheels put on it. Is this where a high-torque servo saver are needed? I see people use these in their builds, but have never knew or asked what the purpose of them was.

Here's the body that I wanted to use. In the pictures, it is just resting on top of the tires. The TT02B has one body mount in the front and one in the rear. This wouldn't work for anything other than a buggy body. I am not sure how to go about adapting the body mounts.

When viewed from the side, the body really sits up off of the chassis and exposes everything in the chassis. To me, this really doesn't look good. If this body was on body mounts, it would sit even higher than in the picture.

I question if I should proceed forward with mounting this body, or just find a buggy body and spoiler and have a monster buggy. The cheapest Neo Scorcher or Dual Ridge body set I can find is around $38 USD. Anyone know of any other buggy bodies that would fit a TT02B?

Those appear to be some big 2.2 tires on there. Just out of curiosity, can the TT02B be geared low enough to compensate for such a tall tire? Personally, I'd run a smaller diameter tire. Are you actually pulling the whole servo saver off the servo, screw and all? As far as looks goes, back in the 80's when truck conversions were the rage, alot of RC10 trucks had a big air gap between the lower body line and the top of the gold tub chassis. Like you said, it doesn't look really good. One trick they did back then was to make lexan side "dams" (usually painted black) and double stick tape them to the side of the tub chassis to clean up the look.

Yes, with 48p gears, I can fit a larger tooth spur gear and/or smaller pinion. For the servo, it breaks the little plastic washer under the screw and pulls the front piece and plastic spring off, leaving the screw and part that slides over the teeth of the servo. I may try it with a metal washer if I decide to keep these wheels. The gap between the body and chassis really kills it for me in the looks department, and I think I may just find a buggy body for it and save this F250 body for something else.

Remember back right before you started your build thread, we talked in PM's about both coincidentally doing this at the same time and told each other which truck bodies we'd be using? You mentioned that you didn't like the body I chose because of the giant wheel arches. Besides, I am far from a copy. Yours is way more advanced than mine. Mine is just big wheels so far. :)

Hi Granddad Stinky, that looks great! Can we see the finished Monster Truck somewhere? Did you use the back damper mount in the front, too and just add body posts or are those damper / body post mounts custom made? I can't really see it in the pictures. As I am trying something similar, since there is no 4WD Monster from Tamiya (I know about the Wild Dagger, but 2 motors is not practical IMO), I'm really interested in how you did this and how it turned out.

Oh... This thread... An update for anyone who comes across it and are interested.

The tires got stored away for future unknown use.

The truck body will soon be mounted on the 4x4x4 WT-01 that I built.

...and that TT02B got made into this:

I think we need a running video of "this". 🤨

Don't you go building cars without showing them off, otherwise everyone will want to do it. Then TC will collapse, there will be massive civil unrest, all the governments except South America will fall and the mission to mars will suffer a fatal setback to the program and the whole of space exploration ...

.... and it will be all your fault, so NERRR! 😁😂🤣

 Moving pictures aren't my thing, though I did show them off. So, the mars mission to the South American government should be okay.

I must have missed that somehow. Nice work. 👍
