Not sure what other options there'd be for a 2WD chassis - not much point (cost-wise) having a chassis-mounted transmission when it's only driving the rear axle.

I think it's brilliant! Simple, strong, and good-looking for a generic truck body. And it should be inexpensive too, from the looks of it.

...Of course, if you have a Lunchbox rear axle and a buggy front suspension lying around, and a little time, you could just as easily make your own...

I was thinking along the lines of a Super Duper Hornet if there was a buggy body to fit it.  I'm undecided on this one.  Some stuff I like but not a huge fan of the body.  Kyosho has been doing some great things lately though so I hope that is translating into sales success.

This truck appears to be going after the "scale" crowd. They like their drivetrain just as scale.

I think the centered trans and motor would have helped balance the car and added to performance as well.

It's nice, but the MOA ruins it for me.

it will bother pro racers but it would make an awesome club racer. of course kyosho will ruin that niche by charging to much for it.

Yes, the MOA would probably handle well having the motor weight back on the driving axle, but it will torture the scale nuts. The upside down gullwing A-arms are driving me nuts.  The first thing I'd do after buying this truck is trying to flip those over!

I do like that you can mount the trailing arms inboard or outboard.

I'm anxious to see a running video.

'the scale crowd' and associated nuts probably won't be too bothered, most of the crowd I know use 4x4s
This seems more like a fun buggy with a truck shell than anything supposed to be true 'scale'
Going by their write-up, it won't be the only body to use the chassis either; " Also designed to be used with short links being developed for future release"

Outside of the VLB/Mad Bull etc. I can't think of any other live rear axle 2WD chassis with which to compare its layout - most 2WD platforms have wishbone suspension all round

I think that's where the communications between the design and marketing departments have failed - it was obviously not designed to contend with anything [most of us consider to be] scale in so far as capability - not being 4x4 is the major stumble for a 'scaler' for a start.
They did a similar job on the new 'Force' truck - it's got a nice scale body but the chassis is pure 'monster' - again, not what most of us would think of as a scaler.

The truck will hopefully be priced as a fun-runner, despite the marketing

The Kyosho USA website has these listed as $229.99 US RTR. Being a fan of American trophy trucks I love how they took modern trophy truck suspension and adapted it to a simple two wheel drive rc chassis. The weight in the back should keep it from nosediving while jumping like my son's Losi Baja Rey. I think this will be a fun backyard basher that my kids will like too.

The front arms look simular to the Camburg Kinetik truck arms
