I'm looking for some misc. hardware for my Blackfoot front end project. I need 4 BA11 screws, 2 BA10 screws, 4 4mm ball studs and nuts to go with them.

I also need some dt03 front c hubs, easily found on eBay 1 at a time but if anyone has a lead on a pair of them that would be awesome..

After a second look at the DT03 manual it looks like the Bag A included with the kit would have all these parts less the c hubs.. no luck on eBay for this one, anyone know where I might find an A Bag from a dt03?

I like www.banggood.com for misc bits, really cheap and can buy in smallish quantities. I find that 10 of something from there will cost less than buying one or two locally. Also they will show the price in your currency and all prices include shipping

thats a second thumbs up on banggood.com, there is also dx.com,I also get lots of electrical parts from there.

Screw wise I tend to go to an industrial nut and bolt wholesaler, you can buy a box of 100 what you'd pay for a couple of screws on ebay. You don't have to buy by the box either.

Gentlemen, raise your hands when you get a chuckle out of reading "banggood" everytime.

For Tamiya R/C specific hardware, I usually try to get whole screw bags instead of single parts. Such bags are less expensive than the sum of its parts, and you'll find surplus parts being useful for other projects.

For general hardware, I go to the DIY store or a local hobby shop. That's mostly for machine screws, metal & plasticard sheets and profiles.

If you describe the spec of BA10, BA11 you may find a few members willing to send you some ?

I'm assuming these are step screws of some description, although i don't recognise BA10/11 as screw designations for the older Blackfoot, King Blackfoot

Glad it's not just me then.

#snigger

I find the commercial ironmongery suppliers on eBay great for nuts and bolts, countersunk screws etc. Some really good ones, next day delivery and cheap as trade.

But for the specialist Tamiya fitments like the stepped screws and ball ends honestly I have found not all aftermarket are equal so tend to just pay the difference and go Tamiya or Hobbyking.

Threaded screws and brass tube with the right od/id to form the shims works great for suspension arms and eyelets etc.

 I do!  I thought I was just being immature.  Haha.  I also hold my breath every time I visit the site at work.  I'm sure a name such as that will get it flagged for "adult" site stuff, but it doesn't.

I'm in the US and we have industrial supply companies. McMaster-Carr is the one where I source hardware. I would think you would have similar companies in the UK.

You're right, they're screw designations from the DT03. The ones that hold the suspension arms on. We're gonna try a front end improvement to the original Blackfoot using a Dt03 front upper arm and c hub to improve the geometry of the front end.

I'd prefer to just pick up the whole parts bag if I can find one. Problem so far has been finding one..

To find whole parts bags, I look up the long Tamiya part number in the manual then type it into Ebay.  As long as I'm not after some ancient vintage bag, I tend to find what I'm looking for straight away.

Westfield Fasteners for stainless screws, nuts and bolts which I use on my custom chassis.

Larger B&Q stores for aluminium channel / L-section / U-section / bar / tube.  They do an alu tube which fits nicely over their 4mm threaded rod for making chunky links for off-road trucks.  Ebay for 3mm threaded rod; it's harder to find.

Local model train store for plasticard stock, ebay for a wider range of Evergreen plastics.

Local engineering firms for sheet aluminium - sometimes they get offcuts which are no use to them but much use for chassis plates etc... - pop your head in the workshop and ask if they've got any spare.

Orbital Fasteners are a good option for stainless bolrs, washers and buts - prices similar to Westfield but more accommodating on postage for small orders.

Some Tamiya suppliers like timetunnel and fusion do stock some small quantity screws packs, not the cheapest per unit item but better than buying a kit screw pack for a few contents.  An example..  http://www.fusionhobbies.com/results/1/1/21?sCriteria=step+screw&sSearchButton=Go&sSearch=Search

So you want 3 x 32mm screw pins, (19805756), 3 x 22mm screw pins (19805755) - fusion list both those in packs of 4 ..

I might even have a load of them, i'll have a look .

Does anyone know what size of ball studs I will need for the DT03 c hubs? My idea is basically the same setup as running turnbuckles on a standard dt03

Okay sorry for the double post but here's an even better question. What is the name for the little silver inserts that go in the top and bottom eye of a shock? They're round in the middle and kind of snap into the eye and then the bolt goes through it.

I think a couple of these and some long bolts all the way through the c hub might serve better than a ball stub screwed into the top of the c hub.

But what the heck are they called?

They are called ball collars.
