Back in the '90s Tamiya made these very '90s-tastic wheels for M-chassis. They're exceedingly rare now, and go for decent money.

Having said that, they look amazing underneath a Mini Cooper or (in the right color), an Alpine A110.

In terms of size....well, they're M-chassis sized. :D
They'll fit both 55D and 60D tires, if that's what you're after.

I've ordered some 1/18 WLToys alloy rims yesterday - will be a few weeks before they land - they are 12mm hex, but no info on any offsets.  I'm hoping they might well fit, ideally i'd like a +3mm offset on them to fill the wheel arches of the Suzuki Swift M03M.

Similar wheels on Banggood site too.

If they fit mine will be getting the oven cleaner treatment to rid them of the horrid blue anodizing.

Will do - from what i could find across various china seller sites they seem to be 26mm width, 52 mm outer diameter, with an inner diameter somewhere around 46mm - maybe a bit big for M tyres, more in line with 1/10 touring car size despite the 1/18th label !

and sure enough, 8 weeks later they have arrived and they are indeed 1:10 touring car  size - oh well they will come in handy somehwere - will probably strip the blue anodizing back to raw alloy finish and drop some crawler tyres on them.  Nothing lost at under a tenner delivered..

Are alloy wheels a performance upgrade, or primarily aesthetic? I would have thought plastic ones would be lighter and thus better form a performance standpoint?

And you would be right! :)

Billet alloy wheels might run truer for sustained highspeed running, perhaps.

But when you hit a bump they'll bend & not bounce back to round :(
