You don't need all the hop ups. I progressively upgraded mine largely because I was interested in learning about car handling. Just run it and see. I didn't even upgrade the hexes until they deformed a bit from swapping wheels a lot.

If you are ordering from tanico they have a lot of the GPM alloy parts which are hard to find here so make the most of the postage and get the front c-hubs.

Drive shafts free up the suspension. The kit plastic binds before full extension. I just have metal dogbones in mine (parts are listed in my build thread) but it might be just as cheap (about £10) to get yeah racing universals.

Personally I think the stock kit is massively under sprung. DF03 setting springs give three options for tuning but again, see how you go. It may be with heavier oil than supplied in the kit it would be ok for mucking about.

Stick on wheel balance weights are only a couple of quid and make a big difference. Get 40-50 grams added to the front of the car and it turns in much better.

That is probably £45 to spend.

If anyone wants any hop ups for a dt03t or dt03 i have unused but opened tamiya stabilizers, tamiya aluminum heat sink, gpm dog bones silver sealed and gpm front rocker blue sealed

I know right!  For like 2 years it literally sat in the box that it shipped in to California.  The new owner is one of the cooks at the college where I work.  He's run it every weekend since he got it and his kids all want one now too.  :)  It's finally found a home.

I would be offering to build kits for his kids, at his expense of course.  A mate managed to do that, his friend wanted a couple for him and his son but was daunted by the build so my mate got to buy and build them for him.  Building is one of the best bits!

I've ordered an Aqroshot from Tamico, along with the drive cups for fitting dog bones.

I've got a pair of dog bones somewhere from when I put universals in the front of my Twin Detonator.

Whilst that's on the way I'll sort out some tyres, steering servo and paint.

I'm thinking of a nice Lunchbox yellow.

Thanks. It looks pretty good in yellow.

I suspect the answer is no but, does the Aqroshot come with bearings in the kit?

If not, I assume it's the usual 2 per corner (2 in each rear hub and 2 in each front wheel)?

Those are the ones where I like to fit rubber sealed bearings.

That is correct, plus you'll need 4 more for the gearbox I think. All same size as the wheels

It takes two per hub, two for the diff, two for the spur and two for the idler. The hub and diff bearings are best with rubber seals, as they will see dirt on one side. Spur and idler bearings are fine with metal shields.

Bearings ordered and tyres are sorted too.

Just won a set of 4, very slightly used, Dirt Hawgs with inserts, for the princely sum of £12.20.

They'll do.

...and I've just had the shipment notice from Tamico for the kit and other bits and pieces.

Just got to wait for DHL to do their thing.

Meantime I must sort a servo for the steering.
