Any Gf01 owners got this bad boy yet?

I think this is pretty cool for Tamiya to release this.. wonder if it's a limited release.

Ok I have to ask, I have never seen a GF01 in the flesh. Is that a clear gearcase, or makes it a Konghead or...?

Nah it's just a clear gearcase. 

it's so you can see the gears going round while your driving it with a body on about 30 metres away from where your standing...

In time, it will probably be a much over priced part on eBay - generally a lot of  clear Tamiya parts gain in value, probably due to low sales volumes initially and optimistic sellers, but some people will pay extra for clear items.

From what I gather, parts such as these are really only good for shelf queens as they are significantly more brittle than the stock parts, and won't stand up to anything more than gentle running.

Well Tamiya, if you are going to release a transparent gearbox/chassis for this, then you must release a multi-coloured gear set for it.

And you might as well do the same for the G6-01 please.
