Just some better pictures of the car. Still no paint, waiting for the spring to arrive so I can get it painted.

BEAUTIFULL :B) wise move leaveing paint work till the warmer months I have  seen a few people get  destortion marks appear recently due to the reaction of tamiya paints (I assume reacting with a warm shell and getting cold with the paint and generall temprature when spraying? causeing retraction and  refraction or expantion and shrinkage?  .I tried a tgx prop on mine but found it to bind due to the drop in the level of the front and rear gear boxes perhaps a little more dremmeling was reqired so i ended up putting  it back on my egress where it will probly stay as it works fine on there and went back to the steel one with bullet conector covers packed with grease. Good  job on the hex king pins I bought two different types and still got too big a gap between the front hub and knuckle so i resorted to going back to the old posi screw type . Any way excellent build love the detail you put in deffinately one of the best builds  cant wait to see what the finished article looks like  :D

Thanks, glad you like it. I too can't wait to see how this will look like finished. Regarding painting you got a point there I think. It used to be no problem for me to paint in the winther, but I moved to a new house without a garage, so no more warm place to paint during winther time.  That said, I'm planning to build a box with a kitchen fan on top that will suck the air out of the hobby room. I do already have a hole in the wall from an old ventilation fan, so why not use it.

I have not noticed the problem you mention about the tgx prop, so I guess I have dremmeled enough.  It would have been so cool if Tamiya could have rerelesed that prop finished dremmeled as a option part for the Avante and Top-Force family. Or even better if the rerelesed the Top-Force Evo with one as standard.

Hmm, strange about the hex king pins. The one I got is spesific for either df01, ta01, ta02 and Top-Force, if the one you got also were for these chassis it should fit.

Thanks for your kind words, this makes me happy to hear. I do have some more details I want to incorporate into this build so stay tuned.

In my parts box I found some red/pink light servo mounts, that I thought would work good on this car.

So these are more red than pink, but they don’t look to bad on the car.

I love seeing an update to this build however small, I almost don’t want it finishing so I can keep coming back for more 😂

The stays look good to me.

I had a nightmare at the time finding alloy servo stays and in the end stumbled across a seller on eBay who was making them himself albeit for a different model (TA04 if memory serves) which going off the label on yours they will be the same apart from yours have a nice fancy bevel to them.

Hehe, then I will have to spread the last things I'm gonna do with it over a long period of time :P

Good thing you found someone that could make some for you. I was just lucky that I found them in my parts box, because I was looking for spacers/shims to use on my Rising Storm suspension.

Well don’t spread it out too far. We need to see the finished article 😁

Yeah I was lucky at the time especially as the guy has disappeared off eBay now. Seems Tamiya have done a re run of the ones he was copying though as they are available again but at a much higher price than I paid.

Must be some spares box you’ve got though turning up treats like that!

Will try to finish it as fast as possible, but sometimes new things/mods comes to mind so I guess there could be changes done long after I'm "finished" with it.

Good thing you got it when you did then.

Well I bought a box with mixed items in, so I don't really know what all is, but there is allot of parts I don't need like tg10 stuff. So might part with em. I guess I was just lucky with the servo stays.

Nice. These popped up on Facebook last week as available again. He is also making one for the front to replace J10.

I’m tempted but have too many cars on the go and spending to much. Not sure I can afford a divorce as well 😂

I got hold on a set with the carbon fiber version of the rods/pipe that goes through two gears in the rear transmission.

It is really super light. I’m thinking these must be possible to make yourself of an carbon fiber pipe in the same dimension.
