Ok, I recently recieved a used Hot Shot from a friend's dad, who no longer has time for RC. I recieved no electrics with the car, other than the mechanical speed controller. Is it possible to use an electric speed control with this setup? If not, I could use the mechanical control, though they have given me trouble in the past. Any pics of the 'insides' of a Hot Shot would be appreciated, as well as any comments or suggestions.

Thanks,

Zach

If you want this to be a runner and are not looking for a true vintage experience, i.e. slow and sloppy responce, frequently buring out speed controls etc then I would go for a modern day set of electrics.

The Hot Shot chassis is so small that it should be much easier to fit a resonable electronic speedo in there instead of the servo and mechanical speedo.

I am also considering upgrading to an ESC for my Hotshot. Are there any rules that need to be considered ie I have seen on the internet that there are forward and reverse and some are limited to the size of the motor. I have a Kyosho Mega Motor 18 x 2 turns which I might put on. Does this have an effect on which ESC i should use ?[8)]
