Hi gang,

I just got a decent set of flouresent green wheels for a Falcon and somebody painted them silver and black. I need to strip these. Are they safe to immerse in brake fluid?

Also, will brake fluid disolve contact cement?

Thanks!!

Contact cement can be removed by using nail varnish remover. Foam tyres are usually glued on using various contct cements, and I remove old foam tyres from their wheels by leaving overnight in a jar of the stuff. Wheels just slide straight out whatever the make.

I left my Ford Ranger wheels in brake fluid for about 6 weeks and they are fine.

Paint came off a treat. The wheels are'nt really white anymore but I think that is because they were'nt that white before they were painted.
