now sold anyways . But yes the 4k is a massive improvement in picture and in general detail compared to the regular blu ray, as it has been remastered in 4k and not just a generic upscale.

going to buy 2049 in 4k tomorrow though, will be my 20th 4k disc to date :)

i've stopped buying the blue /ray versions as the sound aint as good as a normal version to me

Most 4k discs use Dolby Atmos now, which is undeniably a superb sound source/the best you can have atm - if you have the right equipment to show it off. Same goes for TV and bluray player. A stand alone bluray player will eat a PS4 or Xbox One for breakfast as picture quality and detail goes on like for like disc. been there done that, the difference is quite impressive. Bit like Netflix 4k films, they are nothing compared to an actual disc of the same film, as they are scaled down for streaming purposes.

Best heading to bluray.com and on the forums as there is some impressive information that helped me no end in my home cinema system, which was a budget system may I add ;) a bluray player or above will lose alot of sound quality though a TV speakers as it struggles to decode it all. Where as a receiver and speakers/surround system/decent sound bar and subwoofer will give far more impressive range of sounds.

I got a 1080p projector for my home cinema 10 years ago and planned on getting a 4K one when they became available, but they have remained astronomically priced and yet a 4K 80inch tv is now the same price as my 1080p projector when I bought it 10 years ago. Sadly I don’t have the room for a tv that size soa pull down screen was the my only option. I’d love to get a 4K set up but not at 4K projector prices.

I got my Samsung series 6 Curved 55" 4k hdr TV just before Xmas for £480. Reviews were all great for it and it was reduced to almost half price as it was an early 2017 model, was originally £899. But overall I am very happy with the performance of the TV.

Remember to un tick the microphone observation option as Samsung can eavesdrop on your conversations otherwise. Strictly for commercial reasons of course. And certainly that feature won't be abused in any way at any time.<_<
