Can anyone let me know what is needed to convert a fighter buggy (or can I use a grasshopper 2?) to a Madbull other than the wheels and tires.

You need the longer axle front uprights to work with the bigger wheels.

If you're doing a Grasshopper 2 then you need Lunchbox/Pumpkin front uprights and lunchbox or pumpkin wheels (the rear hub fitting is different on the GH2 compared to the DT01 chassis for the Mad Bull)

I have Pumpkin wheels so am I better with a GH2 as a base?

Madbulls on EBay are STUPID prices at min. hence looking at another way to get to the same thing.

I just got a set of pumpkin wheels with tires on em as mine are falling apart.

The pumpkin/ lunchbox uprights are different to the WWII ones used on the madbull.

Do pumpkin wheels have the same odd drive on the rear as hornet? If so you need different wheels.

You need the uprights as already noted, and the thicker tierods are also a good idea as the thin stock Fighter Buggy ones aren't up to the task of handling the bigger wheels. And of course if you want it to look like a Mad Bull, you need the Mad Bull shell, body mount and decal pack.

The GHII is an easier proposition as it already has the right shell and mounts - all you need to change on the chassis are the uprights, and cut down the front bumper so it doesn't catch the tyres. However it has a narrower track and shorter wheelbase than the DT-01, so it won't quite be the same as a Mad Bull. Pretty close though.

Not after a Mad Bull persay, just the big wheels and ground clearance for a bit of bashing. Son getting a Bush Devil 2 for Xmas and looking to be able to bash about with him. My buggies dont have the ground clearance, and the pumpin is well......bonkers

WWII wheels will fit just about anything 2wd so do not rule out DT-02 or DT-03 if they turn up cheap enough. Front axles are the only change needed and I find monsteried buggy’s much more fun. WT wheels will do the same to a 4wd buggy as well.

Typically the 4WD variant is referred to as the WR-01, the 2WD variant is the WT-01, but the wheels and tyres are the same on both variants, and have a 12mm hex fitting that works on most 4WD buggies.
