Heresy!

Recommended Posts

I need to admit my guilt.

In the interest of converting my re re Optima to race fitness, it now sports a set of Tamiya stainless turnbuckles.

I’ll get me coat.......

The upper suspension parts are TT02B (surprisingly) the front’s are DT03 cut back about 5mm in each end.

I stick some pics up later. 👍

Indeed. Much as I’d love to, there’s no way I can afford genuine Kyosho items.

The hobby is about fun, not about worrying what brand you run or miss match parts! 😀

Tamiya stainless on suspension, eBay titanium on steering. Just ordered the titanium top links.

..... and stopping to stainless screws of course. 🤔😁

I have Lunsford turnbuckles on my Avante. The ones between the shocks. There is no problem using good parts to replace others. It used to be easier to get parts for the older rigs, not so much anymore. I recently went looking for a MO4L chassis for my BMW body. There were not really any! Doing restorations is a real challenge these days and won't get any easier as time passes. I have been using stainless screws also, easy to get and tough. Sure do like that Cosworth body!

I spotted some Jazrider rear hubs on eBay, for my Optima. I’d already split to turnbuckle screw hole on one and Kyosho wanted £28 for aluminium parts.

These are £10 delivered, and they really are great. Every surface is machined, with a perfect bearing fit. I love them, the gunmetal finish matches the front knuckles and they look like they’ve always been on there.

It looks great! As hard as  the Mudstar tires are to come by these look just fine. Fine looking chain drive all the way.

Thanks. It’s on belt drive and the titanium turnbuckles were a steal on eBay.
