I've not had an issue with battery fitment, guess I've been lucky!

A 3s lipo needed a bit of a chassis trim for the wires in the top corner though.

An orion rocketsport, just fits,  3200mah,only 25C though.

I'm sure the one I've just got from hobbyking will fit, that's a 3000mah 40c, but not a hardcase like the orion, but the battery isn't exposed in the dark impct, like it is in say a boomerang, were debris could puncture/ damage the lipo.

Just ordered a Floureon  3s looks like that will fit!

With a dermel and a hammer , you can make anything fit! 😂

Will be interesting to see the performance increase over the 2s, but the 2s is 4000 mah the 3s will be 2200 so guessing runtime will be halfed?

In theory, 1/3 quicker!

Keep an eye on the motor/esc temp, they are both tucked away without much airflow, I made the side air scoops functional to try and get air in.

Pretty much. But loads more fun, even silver cans are fun on 3s.

Will it be OK with the 15T motor on 1060 ESC?

Manual says down to 18T on 3s

Thought it was down to 15t on 3s and 12t on 2s on the 1060?

*Edit* Your right, its 18t on 3s. It will struggle without low gearing being off road, maybe ok on road?

OK so it wont blow up?

OK well the battery was under £10 so its no biggy, after xmas may buy a proper brushless setup that suits the car better.

Not sure!

I've run an unknown reedy modified motor on 2s, melted the solder on the battery connector, and cut out, still works though!

For tight battery compartments, like on the XV-01, I tend to use batteries with removable leads / inboard bullet connectors.  I then put 90° bullets on the ESC wires and plug them directly into the battery.

Also, HobbyKing (Turnigy) and Venom make the smaller, rounded LiPo battery packs.
