Finally finished my Pearl White Mountain Rider

Finally she’s finished !!

shes running 3s with a 60amp hobby king ESC .

Painted in 2 pack pearl white with 2 pack laquer .

I want a full size one in these colours with black so thought let’s have a little one now lol.

amazing truck it’s set up with new Futaba T4YWD 2.4 radio gear and high torque Servos .

gearbox are a lot  better than the older 3 speeds really smooth and precise .

shes pretty quick also on 3s , I’m not into slow rock climbing so more suited to me , plus in low 4wd it could probably pull my full size Shogun lol .

Lovely work. Really like it in white.

Must pull my finger out. I have several projects at 80% that I have pledged to complete before tackling my Rider.

Did you paint the chrome wheels black? If so with what and do you think it will last? Also did you paint the side bars black too? I am interested in what paint adheres to the plastic used in the bumpers.

There’s  black plastic set which includes black bumpers and side bars , plus loads of all the other parts on the chassis which should have been black .

the wheels , I used light sand paper to take the shine off the finish and for new paint to have a key .

i then used automotive plastic primer which is clear with specs in , just give them a light coat .

then I give both sides of wheels 2 coats with satin black (auto type again)

allow 24 hours before refitting Tyres .

I love them think in chrome they look like toy wheels .

I believe there gonner be hard wearing but could easily repainted if you use your truck for rock climbing .

Sorry just realised the side bars not come in the black kit , you have to paint them the same way I did the wheels .

but personally if I was going to do the build again then I would leave the side bars off and fill the bolt holes as I think even when painted they just don’t look right .

i have ordered some more realistic tyres also as I feel these are toy looking and not life like

Nice truck.  I just picked one of these up myself and I'm waiting to start the build as I'm undecided on a paint color.  I don't think I'm going Red and I already have a Box art Brusier so....

Yes I normally love box art but I’ve got an old 3 speed Hilux in box art and it would just be the same red .

so decided against

I do remember the Fall Guy truck.  I'm thinking metallic gray or a bark Burgundy.

Looks good. Can’t get enough of 3-speeds! Admittedly I wanted a Mountain Rider over the Bruiser but Banzai stuffed it all up many tears ago. I still want one, but can’t justify the price as I have the Bruiser... maybe just a shell...
