Afternoon all, apologies if this topic has already been discussed...I’m new to the site!

After sorting through the loft I have found my old Tamiya Baja Champ in perfect original condition, only use once or twice on dry tarmac and stored away as I had an accident, crushed the shell and never replaced...think you can see where this post is going!

What are the best bodies to fit as after a quick look on the net I can’t seem to find a replacement? Pretty sure I also read that you can fit a TL-01 shell with TL-01 mounting posts? Any advice would be much appreciated as I wanted to get it running for my lad👍

Thanks in advance

TL01 is std touring car size, but TL01B has longer suspension arms to make it buggy... won't be able to fit a narrow Touringcar body without fouling the wheels.

Hotshot body is too small & only covers 40%  like a bikini top on your jeep.

Original Baja Champ shell has never been easy to find spares for. However the Baja King has been cloned before... there are some of these China shells sold around the world. They fit fine but don't pay too much, they're made of PET & will crack faster than lexan.

Ever considered cutting half a 2L soda bottle? Should be able to cover the TL01 chassis & leave room for the wheels. It'll be made of same PET, can be painted with lexan paints.

I've just fitted this. It's a Kamtec lexan Scorcher repro.

I stole the idea from Mr crispy. Some more info here

it'll get painted orange this week hopefully, I'm not allowed to do it as my other half wants to have a go at painting. She decided on the shell too.
