WT-01 Transit (was Wanted - Lexon shell to fit WT-01 or similar)

Recommended Posts

I am after a basher shell to fit a WT-01.

In some sort of reasonable condition (it will likely get trashed so its not needing to be to good)

I do want a Lexon rather than a ABS shell.

UK based and anything considered.

If you see something on Ebay that may suit please post me the link.

Thanks in advance.

As @Nitomor has ably demonstrated, pretty much anything fits a WT-01. What sort of body style are you after?

lol, no laughing, the good lady is a St John volenteer and would love an ambulace!!! but to be honest I just want something cheep. I have paint left so its its bare fine or its been on something else.

I have Shoe Goo and plenty of offcuts so can fill in body mount holes in wrong place.

As I say will consider anything. If I really really like it I will kindly donate her my BD2 shell and use it myself....lol

The Blackfoot Extreme shell is on its way to a new keeper as its would have got destroyed.

How about a Kamtec Landie?

Plenty of them were turned into ambulances, both military and civilian.

They also have a couple of suitably sized old school van shells that could be painted up as ambulances:

@TurnipJF the second option looks very smart and coming in white and at almost the same dimensions as the BDII shells the only thing I would need is some decals and to come up with rear body mounts.

Well done you.

Any other ideas (still will consider anything)

Thanks @TurnipJF

The Tranist is ordered with Ford MK1 Escourt decals, just need to decide on ambulance decals (modern or Cannon ball version)

Will also get the body post extension kit as well when ordering a Madbull body. Thanks for all the help.

Will post a pic when done

got a sheet of decals for a MK 1 Escort Mexico so we can add some lights, windows to liven it up a bit.

I have not decided how I am going to add the red crosses to make it an ambulance......watch this space. I have a can of red paint coming BUT the masking will need to be sooooooooo good. And my art skills leave a lot to be desired!

How about a sheet of red vinyl? Then you can cut them out using a ruler and craft knife, and discard any that are unsatisfactory without harm to the shell.

ordered some of the red and as it was buy one get one free I added a blue as well. Cheers for links.

Have had the black sharpie and some decals on now. Also ordered a set of colour sharpies to do lights and indicators as well as front blue badge. My art skills are sooooooooo bad. its ok in the distance oor moving. Just up close you can see my wavy hand in the edges.....Good lady let me do this as she reckons its better than she can manage. Also added the pic I copied as best I could. Decals are for a Ford Mk1 escourt Mexico. Hence I have had to do most of front myself. Need orange for indicators, Blue for the badge in the grill and will do lights silver. Add the red crosses to back, sides and roof, extend body posts and then mount and see what it looks like. Bet it makes not only the good lady smile but most who see it tearing about with a couple of pickups and 2 madbulls!

mmmmmm. went to extend the body mounts on my WT-01 to find the post extenders are for a larger diameter post........

So bracing required, some Gorilla Glue and some more bracing. Cut some bracing from a celebrations plastic tin. added the gorilla glue and this is what I ended up with after posts trimmed to height I need them for wheels to clear the body.....just.

Just need the red sticky back plastic to make the red crosses.... & the sharpie colour markers to add front lights, ford badge (well a blue oval) and it may actually look like what I and of course the good lady want.

Not so sure she is as excited as the rest of us about actually using it though!!

How about drawing some bodypanel lines with a waterproof CD marker. Are easy to correct.

I use a Staedler Lumocolor permanent pen 318, if I get off a line I use alcohol or such to rub it off.
