Just sharing some info for my fellow US based members.

Whenever I sell items the biggest challenge I have is finding good, suitable shipping boxes. I hate receiving items in poor packaging and won’t ship until I’m happy that what I send will arrive in the condition I sold it in. Worst case, I have to buy them and pay extortionate prices ($15+) at UPS store or similar. I just bought a heavy duty 16x12x12 box from Home Depot for $1.28. It’s bombproof.

If you need to ship built cars then these cheap boxes are perfect.

Because of that right there, I almost always end up using nearly the entire roll of shipping tape.

Do you have a Lowes nearby? They have them for less than a dollar.

Edit. .82 cents.

No Lowes super close to me. The Depot is my go to if local hardware store doesn’t have what I need. Actually the Heavy duty one I bought was $1.56. The standard box was also 82c. This is going to Australia so wanted the extra heft!

Most large stores have a recycling dumpster where they break down boxes that items were shipped in. If you ask, they usually don't mind you helping yourself. There will be boxes of all different sizes, and you just have to pick through a few to find the size you want in good condition. They receive a lot of pallets with plastic wrap around the boxes, so they tend to be in great shape.

Just another option to try.

My local mail distribution centre has an elephant on staff whose only job is to sit on my parcels... I am sure of it

Plus on lunchbreak they play footy with my ballsized parcels.

Then there's this once parcel arrived soaked thru stinking of diesel... can't explain that one, didn't know elephants could drive :P

The elephant must have stood on it while refueling the delivery truck.
