Those wide wheels and tyres will look totally out of character on a 2CV lol

Oh really?!

... You might be right. But you can at least stick them on the rear, right?

If it can be stuck on a rear-wheel drive chassis, why:

And how can you make a declaration like that when we have:

Stick it on the MF-01X and you can have:

:P

I am finished with the 2CV-based depravity, for now... Time to go find the 2CV thread!

Edit: Time to go start the 2CV thread!

I wonder if the tyres from a truck (Knight Hauler etc.) would be more 'scale'?

TC member Skottoman proves yes:

The release of the 2CV reminded me of this sensational project!

I was hoping for something funky like Konghead and dancing rider.  I guess it would be too expensive for Tamiya to create new chassis all the time.

But wouldn't it be cool to have 6x6 amphibious Gamma goat? Tamiya never had an amphibious RC before.

Yay for the Manta Ray. I will be buying one. My favourite RC back in the day, got one at 14 and loved it, only sold it to scrape enough funds for a motorbike once reaching legal age. I too missed out on the rere. Funny the love for the DF01 was only being discussed just the other day on here!

Nitomor, what sort of motorbike can be purchased with funds raised from a second hand Manta Ray? :P:wacko:

Could it out-accelerate my Yamaha RD350 YPVS in 1988? lol :)

I sold everything I owned lol to pool it all together, along with the job I was working during holidays from age 13 so I could afford a bike at 16 as my parents eventually gaved in to letting me get a bike on the proviso I bought it myself!

I think I got about £400 for a job lot sale for the Manta ray, a Clod which I had bought used, and a bitsa pumpkin that once 95% complete with loads of new parts as well as all chargers etc etc. The Manta Ray was the first RC I built myself.

I bought an Aprilia AF1 50 in 1992, 77mph (indicated) rocketship, it was awesome, the first time I took it out is one of the most memorable moments of my life. Not as fast as your RD350 (bet you wish you kept that ;p ), but it handled superbly. Sold that to fund an RS125 Extrema at 17, which predictably blew up and the piston got replaced with a Malossi 175 big bore kit, that flew and to this day I reckon its one of the best handling bikes on the planet! Even in 125 trim it was blitzing the big 750’s and litre bikes of the day (exups and co) through the lanes. Obviously motorways it didn’t have the legs but still it topped out at nearly 130mph (indicated).

I do wish I had kept it lol....

But when you are young you don't realise these things.

8 years later....I bought a second hand Silver Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja......then a brand new Green Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja.....and then a Brand new Kawasaki ZX-9R Ninja......

I took the Green ZX-6R to France in 2001......what a fabulous holiday......140mph sprints for 5 minutes....then a 25mph poodle through a village.....then another 140mph sprint for another 5 minutes!!! LOL...and repeat...all day long!

Happy memories!!!!

I nearly bought a Mu some time ago, just because the body was complete and quite rare to find in good condition, so it's good to see it getting another run.

I am interested in the Tipper depending on it's functionality and aesthetics. Not so much the Mercedes part, but it would be wise of Tamiya to make the tipper seperate and universal so it can be mounted on any truck frame without too much trouble. They could piggyback the old Plus1 unit from the mammoth onto a multi function unit to make it go up and down without using more channels (or use the new 6L radio).

This is the week we all disagree over Tamiya decisions lol :D

So countdown to the odd announcements on Tamiyablog very soon!

"Here we are amused to announce with great happiness the Jun Watanabe Konghead....many gears are included which create many rotations"

Or some other missinterpreted pigeon English lol :)

The lancia looks interesting (more interesting if it was on the ORV chassis:rolleyes:) but very underwhelmed this year:huh: oh well lets see what other manufacturers are going to release? (Turbo optima:))
