Although they may be the ones with the lowest licensing fees...

I imagine also that as these cars raced 25+ years ago, many teams / sponsors may no longer exist. That would make licensing some liverys a nightmare.

As a modeller, and an ex-boyracer, lol,  I am adding this 1/12th scale static model to my list.

These cars have motorbike performance in real life.....amazing things.

This model looks superb! And a re-release I believe (?)

I have reviewed the new releases and I have one question... where are the new releases?

imo that's the most useless list of releases in years. Only thing worthwhile is the trf103 multi link rear pod which is long over due.

TA07 and 037 we already knew about.

190E and Subaru Impreza 04 on TT01? Clearly they still have too much tt01 parts in their inventory.. otherwise these could have simply been body sets

same goes for the Citroen 2CV.. could have been just a body set .. but Tamiya has a lot of left over inventory in M05

WHERE IS MY M08?

WHERE IS MY WOW RE-RE

sorry Mantarey was junk back in the 90s and still is!!

apologies if my opinion offended anyone.

I was looking at all the photos at Tamiyablog, and I definitely like the 2CV and the tipper truck.  I wonder if the tipper mechanism is sized so it can be adapted to the 1/24th Heavy Dump Truck?

I have to agree with HornetRacer, the Caterham Super Seven / Lotus Seven is a great static model.  Since it's 1/12, I'm wondering if a RM01 chassis could be adapted to make it RC...

The 1/32 Baron Viento makes me think of the 1/10 Street Devil too.

I'd love to see some 1/12, 1/18, 1/24, and 1/32 RC chassis come out from Tamiya so some of the beautiful static model bodies and even Mini 4WD bodies could be driven.

Gee GreatDane, I don't know. Try Tamiyablog.com they might help you out.

Thanks, GreatDane. Found it. Only to find out only for the Korean Tamiya agent. Image courtesy of Tamiyablog.com.

wow that's looks very cool as well. Tamiya really missing the ball big time with no new 2017/2018 WRC cars imo :( especially with the WRC being so exciting last season with the new 380bhp spec cars.

Yaris WRC would have been very cool.

Ooh. I want this too... But I'm broke! ;>_<;

The question still needs be asked, though... Can this somehow be converted into a bodyshell for an RC?

Me too. I abandoned plans for a sevenesque kit when my boy arrived and turned to Tamiya instead.

I bought the Lego Caterham and this will go on my list. Cost may be a factor though....

Tyres / wheels on the static 2CV show that the M05 wheels just aren’t quite right.

Is there a kit number or at least a number for the decals?

ernieks

Kit is currently up and listed at Tamiya Germany. Nr. 58656  I'm sure parts listing will follow soon.

Yes, quite the shame it's on an old school TT-01E. But of course that never stopped us Tamiya die-hard enthusiasts from sourcing parts! The body, decal set and rims would go nicely on a TT02R, or my retro TB02R. Sure miss my original TCS winning TA01 Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO in the black Zakspeed livery.

Cheers, Thompson

Hyundai WRC was specifically made for the Korean market - interesting

Are there any other tamiya RC models made specific for their respective countries?

wasn't too bothered about this but now there's the suggestion that I might not be able to have it, I'm finding myself wanting it :)

Yes, another Hyundai, the Veloster, also for Korea. I hope there's some way to get a clear i20 body, as despite the poor wheel fitment shown it definitely has potential!

yes looking at the body it looks more like a 196-200mm wide body at the rear to mimic the modern wide WRC cars. And easily fixed, would also be good to add the WRC show cars colour scheme wheels - red on the front and dark blue on the rear.
