Hi,

I have some wing/side mirrors for my Isuzu Mu, but I don't have any decals for the "mirror" part,

Could anyone advise me on what I could use please, besides paint because they have holes in them.

Thank you  :)

You could look online at a certain auction website a buy sample piece of mirrored Perspex for about 99p delivered, the sample will be big enough to cut out a few mirrors.

Now that's something I would never have thought of. I will look into that. Thank you very much @max69vk  :)

I didn't even know what Perspex was, but that sounds like a good idea.

Going with svenb's idea is easiest to do.  However, instead of painting, maybe stick on a piece of aluminum tape on the outside.

If you want to paint, somebody in TC suggested Molotow Liquid Chrome marker.  That stuff gives you mirror-like chrome finish.

I go stationery/partysupply store & buy Mylar foiled sellotape. (Or if you've got a signwriter nearby, they'll have large sheets of Mylar chrome foil)

Stick it only scrap of lexan, cut to shape & glue it into mirror. Shoegoo or sponge double sided tape.

Some neat ideas here.

The Tamiya MAN race truck requires some scraps of lexan to be cut to size, then covered with a Tamiya decal.  IMO a step backwards from the molded plastic parts that always worked so well, but there you go.  I still haven't got around to doing mine yet despite the truck being "finished" for about 7 months.

Anyway, that's the way I'd go - I've used a chrome lexan paint before with very good results (I think Fastrax chrome, but could be wrong).  Cut out some lexan scraps, shoot some chrome at it, then stick it in with servo tape :)

My efforts with chrome painting haven't gone so good :( it's all backed with PS5 black... anything I stick to the black back eventually pulls it off the lexan.

Tape is easier or if I really wanna buy something from LHS the BareMetalFoil chrome is pretty good too. Applies on anything, surface details show thru very well so you'll want a smooth surface to make a mirror.
