Worst car program ever?

Recommended Posts

Just curious to what people think is the worst ever car program.

For me it has to be Goblin Works Garage!

Never seen so much tat in all my life, it makes Car SOS look like a Hollywood blockbuster.

Tonight's program they are destroying a Capri! rare E reg at that, I like a modern engine in a old car but don't ruin the looks😕

Rant over

Sven

Anything with Bernie and Leepu in it.  Also the new series of Wheeler Dealers has been very disappointing

The guy called Bernie did another series with another chap called Mario - can't remember what the series was called but is was awful !

The new WD series is not as bad as I had feared but bottom line is Ant is not Ed and the changes in the format of the show have not improved it.

Goblin Works made a mess of the Mk.II Escort and totally ruined the Land Rover.  Don't get me started on what they do to motorbikes.  But I'm afraid I liked the Capri, even though I liked it before they touched it too.

Most car programmes are poor, but when the alternative is Emmerdale or Celebrity Big Brother, I know what I'll be watching.

Tbh, I havent watched any for a while, i got bored of the, only got 24hrs to get it finished, rubbish (even though the previous weeks panic, is sat on a ramp in the background).

Foose wanted to but awful big donk wheels on everything, wheeler dealer went american and no idea what the programme with Bernie was meant to be at all!!

Solved the problem by getting rid of cable, not watching any, and spending the £50 a month saved by buying parts to build my own project (RC parts too, obviously 😀)

Now the only one i really watch is the,  bad obsession,  on youtube.

I'm quite enjoying the new series of Wheeler Dealers. I thought the hand crafted spoiler on the escort was an interesting new angle - can't imagine Ed going that far. The only thing I'm not so keen on is that they seem to be doing cars that are unavailable to most of us. With the older series there was a nice connection when they were doing things like Mk1 Escorts, XR2s, Corrados, etc. interspersed with the odd Ford Pop.

agreed that has to be the biggest load of rubbish ever and the chavs who take their cars to him are a joke wraping cars dont allow the title car customiser just a car chaver in my eyes. for me the best one was "american hot rod" as it actally show what when one with the process as all the other ones just fly off onto other cr*p that aint relivent ti anything the one with the tv vet who built a car a plane and a 4x4 was ok

AHR... ahh, is Boyd still on the air? Thought they canned it years ago.

That was a great show as Boyd was oldskool & a good artist; plus it was helmed by Mike Rowe (you might remember him from Dirty Jobs).

Then came Overhaulin' which started the rot <_<

Boyd Coddington sadly passed away in 2008.

no american hotrod is not on air no more did you know boyd is dead.i think that was why it was taken off and no more made.

i agree overhaulin is just wrong and its a shame as it had so much potential it had good designer(apart from all the silver he kept spraying on the cars) but he format is just wrong.

for me atm the best show on the tv is car sos

Have you seen the one where they did up a guys Audi Quattro? I was watching it thinking it looked really familiar and then realised it was the guy about 5 houses up the road from me! The sad thing is, after it was finished it sat in his front garden for ages. I think it's moved into his garage now, but I've never seen it being driven which is a shame...

i understand that as at the begining of the show he said how ill he was and found it difficult to drive then so i thought that might happen.

and i can understand him in not getting rid of it esp the love he has for it. i am the same as i took my 1.1 car of the road nearly 2 years ago and i cant bring myself to sell it

Yeh, it happens a lot on the show. It's great to see the reaction of some of the people when they realise what's happened, but a shame they don't get to drive the cars much after...

Classic car rescue. I don't have problem with Ant, it just the show has slightly different production values, plus for the most part the choice of cars has been a bit mehh

As a Ford freak that spoiler was a travesty

I believe the owner of the Audi passed away I am sure Fuzz put it on his Facebook/Twitter a couple of years ago

Well if that's the case, then that's sad news... he loved his cars. He had a TVR and Range Rover too - and did up a nice scirocco for his daughter...

American Hot Rod used to annoy me a lot.  Working in places like that ought to be a dream job, but putting stupid deadlines on builds for no reason at all just created tension.  No wonder most of his staff left to go elsewhere, Boyd was a horrible boss.

I realise a lot of jeopardy is just contrived purely to make 'good' TV and enhance the story, but it didn't work on that one.  Overhaulin' was better, and at least on Counting Cars you get the impression that Danny's staff enjoy working there.

I like Car SOS even though it's over-sentimental and Tim is a tit.  The first 2 Salvage Hunters Classic Cars were OK, although the Mini was much nicer before they 'improved' it.  Not tried the new Wheeler Dealers yet, though they got rid of the wrong man...

Let's not forget American Hot Rod was produced to go against American Chopper  those were the times.

Wheeler Dealers was good, haven't caught the Edd-less series yet.

Car SOS is tolerable, better than everything else from BBC or ABC currently. :) Even James May's disassembly series is pretty desperate watching.

Only thing remotely good about current production TV is Chasing Classic Cars, Wayne Carini speaks well & knows his stuff.

Best car series ever? Still champ by far is "A Car is Born" with Mark Evans, also A Car is Reborn, then plane etc

ah ok, sorry... kudos too to Leno's Garage :D

you know what i forgot about counting cars ....and i dont know how seeing as it is my fav one danny is a great person  and really loves what he does and in my eyes from the shows that have been on itv4 i have not seen a car /van come through them doors that i have not liked he has two supremely brilliant painters/airbrushers. then you have the valeter and horney mike and when them two get together if makes for real funny viewing.

Car Chasers is on every day at 6pm, I usually manage to catch a bit of it.  That's not a bad watch, though I wish he'd stop ruining 55-57 Chevy's.

Oh yeah, Sin City Motors, forgot about that one. I don't like anything he builds, but it's not a bad watch.

So why has ED left WD ?.  Loved that show from the start & did see WD was not going to happen as it

said last of series . Didn't think that it was because ED left  . Just throught it as come to the end :(  .

You can't replace the orignals of show's that have been on for so long.

as they have been , Just like topgear . It's don't work . The Grand tour is great .

Counting cars is great !.  Mind you i do like most car shows ! BUT they do kill it with over the to drama .

Overhauling was great at the 1st few ep's , But then it got over the top with product placement etc .

NOT enought building , cutting , beating etc . Most shows end up like it . This is what kills it ( well

for me it does ) .
