This is more of a brain dump than anything for me,  as I have been mulling this over the last couple of weeks,  and just need it out.  I am hoping the different views from you guys can help make the vision in my head clearer.

I will just go with the highlights to start...  .

-Found a '29 Ford Roadster body on eBay that I am drawn to for some reason.  I will put a pic at the end of the post.  250mm WB,  115mm wide rear portion,  60mm wide front portion,  330mm overall length.

-Thinking short course tires for some semblance of off-road capability.

-If possible,  keep as much contained inside the body as possible.

-To keep the motor inside the body,  maybe run something like a TT02 rear set-up only?  Maybe something else?  Still researching...

-For suspension,  do a cam actuated suspension setup to do away with shock towers and the like.

I am researching the options for front steering and rear gearbox options.  The suspensions I am planning on fabbing from scratch and/or adapting parts.  I am anticipating a good amount of fabrication for this anyway.

Honestly,  I have scrapped the idea twice in my head already,  simply because if I can't do it how I envision it,  I don't want to do it.  But I keep coming back to it.

Here is a picture of the body...

Most hot rods like this still have solid axles and leaf springs, often a single transverse leaf spring with radius rods locating the axle. But sometimes they use a Jaguar IRS, so maybe a semi-truck front axle and a buggy rear end of some kind? Maybe a Fox? Look at photos of full-scale hot rods and you'll see lots of inspiration.

Looks like a fun project, for sure. Good luck with it!

How about DT-02?

Wheel base is 260mm, only 10mm longer.  Chassis is fat in the middle. I don't have DT02, so I can't measure how wide the chassis is...  Zahhak's bigger, but it's 140mm wide.  DT02 might be about 120mm.  5mm isn't big, but if necessary, you can Dremel the fat parts.
