Hi guys, I have been inspired to try to fix a couple of my build threads where all the images are broken due to the photo bucket issues. However when I go in to do this, the edit function isn't working properly anymore. I'm not sure if it is due to the thread being over two years old and having to transition from the old site to the new one or if there is a statute of limitations on editing functionality due to age? (Which I doubt!)

I have downloaded all the images from my Bruiser build and want to try to re-upload them, but the normal editor seems to have disappeared... Quite a PITA.

I have submitted this topic and then edited it and the edit works perfectly, I am concerned that it's due to the thread age? https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/79063-jds-bruiser-build/&page=3

Hmmm don't know what it was, but tried three browsers and they all did the same. Did a hard reset, and bam.... Thanks for the help at least confirming for me that it wasn't an old thread editing setting!

Just dragging up an old thread as it seemed the most relevant.....

I just looked back on some of my old - threads that I started and to my surprise.... the photobucket hosted images have all been restored.

I've probably missed all of this along the way but what the flip is going on there ?  I'd like it if anyone can bring me up to speed on photobucket.

Or - should I just start using tcphoto's and learn how to use TC to host my pics into forum entries ?

Thank you

Yeah was very pleased to see that they have let the images back again. When Photobucket did that, it literally ruined thousands, nay millions of forums posts globally. I’ll dettianly never trust them again and have since moved to Flickr. So glad we can now see all old images in threads. Would have been a real loss to loose all that knowledge and work!

Flickr are starting the same trick now with limited size accounts

Nooooooooooo.

To be honest I am concerned about any of these services doing a similar thing. Unsure any are safe in the long term.

I haven’t looked into Google, probably should as most of my stuff is on there and prices are reasonable.
