Which one? Two primary variants being the CC01 (slow) or CW01 (lunchbox chassis).

The scale CC01 version is much like a 1:1 Unimog.

You don't want these to be fast though as they are about the Tamiya scale off road philosophy.

I have been interested in a Unimog, but I've heard they are really slow.  Any one here got experience with one?  Thanks.

Bit like marmite u either love them or hate them the unimogs. Personally it’s just not sexy enough looking For me. Pajero / bronco kits on the Cc01 can look amazing and with a few hop ups be really fun .the term ‘ Crawler ‘ sounds slow but my last pajero did wheelies with a 55t crawler motor in it. Great fun . Brisk off the line. Cw01 lunchbox chassis is also fun in memory until the point I drove it into the sea . Salt / sand vs metal. Didn’t end well. If you want speed I had a wt01n amarok. Dropped in an uprated motor and metal bearings  and boy it went like stink

There's a CR01 Unimog too.

I'd left it off the list because it's circa £350 in the UK and up to £450 from some sellers, even importing doesn't really save you much on that price (I think it works out closer to £500 in the USA) and bar the cheap lexan body it doesn't look like a Unimog chassis. Even the CW variant looks closer.

The CR01 version is the slowest due to the planetary center gearbox.  At full throttle, mine goes at a brisk walking pace.

The CC01 version is faster to the point it will tip over while turning; most people put slower motors in theirs to make the speed more realistic and help with the traction rolling.

The CW01 version is just like the Lunch Box - it will pop wheelies and is generally bonkers.

Highly capable, highly scale, or a total caricature - take your pick.

I'm quite partial to Unimogs.  I've never seen in real life a fast Unimog, so for me it's all about slow speed and high torque.  After all, a Unimog is pretty much a tractor and a truck combined, maybe even more tractor than truck.

My CC-01 with an 80T motor.

My Matchbox Unimog (it's really slow)
