Wanted Items Swap Space...

I was recently organizing my collection, and noticed that I have a lot of doubles and triples of some pretty rare items. I also have a fairly extensive list of wanted items that I'm sure some of you out there have duplicates of.

I'm sure the answer is "that's what Tamiyaclub is for", but I was curious if anyone had ideas on how we could form a more dedicated space to post personal trade lists. Does this seem useful to anyone besides me?

Not sure as you can easily post in here that you’d want to trade and list what you have and what you’re after just the same as selling. This is JMO

Thanks, I kinda figured that would be the answer Guess I'm just lazy and was day dreaming of semi-automated system of posting inventories and lists. I imagine most of us here don't really have the time or energy to post our complete inventories, which means that they're not really a searchable data set. The thought crossed my mind when I was toiling over trying to translate the Tamiya 92xxx item list last night, and realized that I have a lot of stuff in my collection that's never been properly entered into any kind written inventory. It would be far easier to if there was a single spreadsheet I could "tick boxes" when I wanted to offer it up for public trade. The Tamiyaclub subscription site offers a single massive "999999 Parts" category, but you still have to enter all of the details by hand. Seems like there's got to be a better way!

In another forum I used to be in there was a trade thread where people would list what they had to trade and what they were looking for.... worked out ok until people started wanting handouts which isnt a bad thing per say but the original person who was looking for said item then got bypassed by said panhandler...... I wouldnt think there would be a problem with that in here per say as everyone here for the most part is a stand up guy/gal.

Yeah there's plenty of reasons why ultimately this kind of stuff is best left to established platforms like eBay, Gumtree, Craigslist, FB, etc. -- It's impossible to be democratic or even diplomatic when you're dealing with transactions that aren't face-to-face. It's just wishful thinking on my part

I'd message Andy if I had a better formed idea here, but really all I have is: Me > Too lazy to actually properly document my own inventory > wishes someone else could document *everything* so I don't have to do anything > ??? > Profit

I'm a sucker for 49*** parts, touring car especially.

I've never had that much joy in tracking down rare parts on the forum maybe folks know more about them and want to keep hold🤔.

But I'm all up for a swap section just don't think it would be worth it along side this one.

I actually saw you mention this in another thread and was what got me initially thinking of this idea. I'm also a 49xxx collector, if you couldn't tell!
