the wheels on my hotshot can be reversed to provide a wider track. how will this affect the car's handling? I believe it will provide more stabillity, and sharper turning. Havn't tried it yet as I'm still rebuilding it. Also if I were to put a 19T in it what pinion size should I use. [?]

Wider track does not always equal better handling. The modification you are sugesting increases the track but the steering geometry does not move so you might find that the steering is effected adversly. Only one way to find out for sure though? In regards to what pinion to use. For a modern day 19 turn you generally need to use a low gearing and hence try to fit the smallest poinion you can. The hotshot gearbox only allows a few different sizes. Anyone know what size pinion was used on the bigwig? That would give e good indication of what to use.

I am sure other members have more exact descriptions to help you out.

13T was the smallest pinion for all the HS family cars.

As Toykid said a so much wider stance will mostly have disadvantages like high forces/wear on the suspension parts, sluggish steering and higher turning radius.

Cheers
