I've started to restore my Hilux.[:P] First thing to do, was to clean the windshield. I thought it was only scratched, but after one hour of polishing, I've seen that it is yellowed.[:(][xx(] So here is my question. Is there a way to get it complete clean or should I search for a new one[?]

I think, judging by the pix you have included, that its pretty much as good as its going to get.

The problem with yellowing is that it is caused by the plastic being sensitive to uv light. It applies to alot of coloured plastics tamiya used but it shows up mostly on glass and solid white parts, because its easier to notice. I have restored a Ligier js9 with a blue plastic body and one side was practically green, must have been on a window sill for years getting hammered with light[:(] But that wasn't too bad because i could paint the body.

So, to sum up my rambling reply, if your not happy with the glass you will have to search for one off a hilux thats been in the loft or basement from early in its life.

Just my personal opinion, i think it looks fine tho[8D] And its always nice to keep a car original with the parts it has always had.

I’ve polished it with a special polish paste; witch is normally used to polish Mobil phone displays.

Maybe I should gently sand it. The question in this case is; is the yellow only in the first 0,1mm or is it deeply yellowed, through the entire windshield? [?][?]

I agree with The Dodge, I would prefer to use all original parts from the old Kit, but I hope I can reduce the TOYOTA shadow (see pic2) to a min.
