926 was brought out for DF03 when ~ KeenHawk arrived, it's got threaded body.

1028 came out later with DB01, by this time the fashion was "aeration" style so you can ignore the bubbles in the oil

I'm sure they both work fine

even TAMIYA #53701 DF-02 ALUMINUM DAMPER SET works fine, that was all that was available when DF03 Dark Impact first released. It predates threaded body era so you've gotta use clip collars, but superfine preload adjustment isn't too mandatory on an off-roader vs a touringcar so no huge loss there - hasn't bothered me enough to want to upgrade mine to threaded style

The aeration dampers are nice, however the fittings are different than the usual tamiya parts.

The top and bottom connectors are not compatible with the usual tamiya ball joints so they can only be used with the supplied parts (which are a grey plastic parts). The lengths seem to be all different to the usual and the supplied parts are not standard tamiya lengths.

i have both sets, I prefer the df-03 dampers myself, the TRF aeration dampers are slightly alien and while the function and quality is exceptional they feel a little non tamiya’ish.

If that doesn’t bother you the trf are certainly a great option.

dont even for half a second consider the 3racing or yeah racing df-03 dampers. They are total garbage. Stock plastics are better.
