As per the title...

I dug an old stock 540 motor out to put into my CC01 build, attached the pinion and went to turn it by hand (I'm sure we all do this) only to find a lot of resistance. I could over come it, the motor will turn half-way then the same again. Something is stuck between the armature and the outer magnets :(

How can I get it out? Attach it to a battery and see if some rough justice will eject it? (sounds like fun but...will it damage it?)

I don't think you can take a standard Mabuchi silver can apart can you?

I’m always dropping screws in my 540s. Don’t force it out whatever you do. Get a small screwdriver or tweezers and try and get it out. If you damage the coating on the windings it can short out. Use the vent hole in the side of the can, hopefully you can see it

Been there, done that... I have since learned not to put motors in with the rest of the parts...

If you can see inside the slot, you can usually fish it out with needle-nose pliers (the kind with the curved jaws can be especially helpful), but there was one instance when I couldn't even see what was in there, and I just ended up throwing the motor out, because it was too much trouble.

I guess all I can really say is, good luck...

I had a screw in a hpi firebolt motor...I jus kept tapping/banging it and eventually it came out...:D......I could see at times jus by the edge so I tried to bang it towards to gap/s.....
