sumo1977 23 Posted March 25, 2018 ok then, i will try and post as often as i can and with pics (i know you all love pics). well it all started in about 1990 when a friend had a 959, i had a boomerang and a lunchbox but always loved the porsche 959 car and after seeing my friends 959 rc new i wanted one. well roll forward to 2018 (thanks ebay) and i finaly got my 959 (life sort of got in the way) and i will try to document the strip down and rebuild. well this is what it started out looking like not the best colour I'm not going to do anything to the body as i don't want to damage it. i have a tbg one coming in tne post as well as new repo decals. sumo1977 23 Posted March 25, 2018 well it being sunday and all with not a lot to do the 959 got stripped down, left box is the rear gearbox and suspension, batterie box and middle section, left box front gearbox and suspension as well as the electrics. bumper and motor. sumo1977 23 Posted March 25, 2018 these are some of the new parts that will be fitted along with new A + D parts. a new repo tbg body and interior, repo rothmans decals. big shout out to sparkysx from these forums for all of the boby part you saved me a lot of time. sumo1977 23 Posted March 29, 2018 also got the bits from shapeways for the front and rear suspention. very impressed just need to drill the holes out with a 3.2mm bit and they fit like a dream. if you need non origianal bits these are very good. more soon once the rear gearbox case gets here. 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

sumo1977 23 Posted April 4, 2018 well she got finished off yesterday and this morning new A,B,D,F and R parts, new wheels and radio gear fitted. left the original electrics as i wanted to leave them in place for the retro look. just the TBG body, body parts and decals to be done. very happy bunny.
