The tires received some water slide decals from tabu design. I don’t think they will hold up under heavy driving, so they may just be used for shelf duty.

I bought two sets of decals, one turned out to be vinyl, which I knew would not stick well. The other set were these water slides, which I still think will not stay on too well.

I found a video of some transfer type decals that I think actually have a chance of staying on, but I can’t find them for sale anywhere.

I will be using these spoke style rims with slicks for driving I think, haven’t decided yet. The spokes will be painted either a white or gold color, don’t know yet.

This is the video of the tire decals I wanted to use. I hoped the tabu design set was a wet transfer like these, but they were just standard water slide kind.

Just about done putting all the decals on. It was very tedious, but gratifying. I see what everyone says about the edges lifting, these decals don’t seem to stick as well as other kits I’ve built. My solution was to heat them to the point of almost melting with a hairdryer and conform them around whatever shape they were laying over. So far they are staying put.

Also received some goodies in the mail so I can finish the chassis up.

Will continue the body in a few days, I’m waiting on another package from MCI racing.

Finished fabbing up some wipers so I could ditch the kit supplied decals. These were from a touring car kit on ebay that I heated, bent, and shaped. I will paint these flat black, although I know they would have been chrome on the classic.

Also made a blood letting sacrifice to the Tamiya Gods tonight. This should ensure a problem free initial run and show my sincere dedication to the hobby! These cheap snap off blade knives are no joke!

Chassis is almost done.

Yeah racing steering kit installed.

4795_E110-_C53_C-40_AE-_A48_C-7_E5_FF0_C

Turnigy metal gear servo installed. Even with all this and lots of shims, the steering and suspension still have a ton of slop :(

Wanted to take a poll on wheel nut choices. I know it’s kind of hard to decide without the body on yet, so you will have to use your imagination.

First up is just a plain thin nut.

315_FC1_D1-_C4_A2-4180-811_E-_B413307_D7

Next is the standard Tamiya wheel nut.

Next is an offering from yeah racing that kind of looks like a castle nut.

Last one is that same nut in black.

I still haven’t decided yet, I’m leaning towards the black ones though.

The black wheel nuts get my vote - they complement the wheels nicely.

I’m rethinking my desire to put lights in this kit. I just don’t know if it will look good after all my hacking and gluing on the front grill. There will be safety tape over the headlight lense anyway, like this.

Just not sure all the work is worth it.

yeah no easy way to hack those lights... "Easiest" could be to get them copied into a clear resin IMHO :)

bolt on some spotties if you want illumination

Front and back magnetic mounts installed. I had to reposition the rear mount to get it to clear the rear window.

I’m still working on getting the body down lower, I just don’t think I can get there with these style mounts though. Thinking I may soften the suspension to allow some droop. Maybe add another spacer inside the damper to restrict downward movement.

Does anyone know how to remove this ridiculous rear wheel toe in? I know it is great for handling qualities, but I’m more concerned with scale looks. Is there a way to straighten the arms out somehow?

The chassis has about 2 degrees of toe molded into the pivots. I solved this by using the 2 degree aluminum carriers flipped left to right. Voila, zero toe B)

Is this a Tamiya hop up part? Do you happen to know the part number?

92237, 54267, and Yeah Racing makes some inexpensive 2 degree versions of their own design.

Can any M06 experts confirm that 2 degrees of toe is molded into the chassis? I've heard both 1.5 & 2, but never actually did an empirical measure myself.
