Hello,

i want to remove a Print from a Plastic "Arcade Stick" for the mini SNES.

I want want to go from this (new one from EMIO 2017):

To this (old one original from Nintendo 1990s):

I found this on the TC Homepage:

A User of another Forum says that "Breakcleaner" could work. But "Breakcleaner" is a little bit unspecific and i am afraid of ruin the Plastic.

Do you have have any Tips?

Brake cleaner is an aerosol used for working on 1:1 cars.

Brake fluid can work, but the new stuff is less corrosive. I read somewhere that Brake fluid actually becomes more corrosive as it oxidizes/ gets older - the tell-tale sign being the yellowing of the fluid.

You can also get "Graffiti remover" from a diy store which could work?

It may of course be quicker and easier just to strip that down and paint it...

Break-Cleaner is simply Bremsenreiniger in der Spraydose. I am shure it will NOT work. Anything you try on plastc, try inside first! You dont want the plastic running away. I think one way will be grinding, maybe scotch sponge , green side. Or try some Aceton/Nailcleaner with a Q-tip (Wattestäbchen) but very gentle. Again, plastic can run away.

Ok, thanks for the Input.

Painting is not an Option for me, because i want to have the original structure and feel of the Plastic and these "Arcade Sticks" get tiny scratches when used (by me). Scratches in Plastic look better than a Scratch in the Paint and the Primer....

I am afraid that Breakfluid or Graffitiremover will eat up the Plastic (ABS?)

But if Breakfluid can remove the Print, i will try that.

Can you tell if it's painted on or not?  If it's not painted, you can try Goo Gone and/or ELO (Easy Lift Off).  Both will be plastic safe.

It`s painted on, well it`s printed on the Plastic....

I`ve tried GooGone (Pro-Power) and there is no Chance of  getting it off.

Ive also tried a Solvent of the "Tieger" brand (Tieger Universalverdünnung) and that worked...

...well it worked for the Grey print but now there is a tiny Little bit of White Primer or stuff like that.

Here is a Picture of another Stick with the same Procedere (Tiger Solvent):

Ok, the Prints are removed.

Now i have to apply Decals to it.

I've decided to use Waterslidedecals. I`ve Buyed Revell Decal Softener.

Is there a better Way to Apply Decals?
Is there a better Decalsoftener for the best possible adhesive Action?
