You can do it, but the finish will be dull. ie, not acceptable for a Rough Rider.

A RR shell is worth doing properly, use the TS paints or an airbrush.

I had a thought of using some PS paint lying about to do an undercoat in blue. I would then tape over the blue with some pinstripe masks, and proceed to do my white top coat in TS paint. Once that was complete, I would pull off the masks and have some nice pinstripes (hopefully). As long as the paints don't interact, I figured I'd give it an experimental try and see what it looked like. Worst case scenario would be to sand it down amd paint over it.

Just wondering if the different paints would interact and cause a plastic meltdown or anything! And if it works, its a good way to use up old paints on bodies that are just for bashing about.

I wouldn't mix the two paints. I did on my rough rider and it didn't come out that great. the line that separates the two didn't come out well. it seems that they reacted to each other. Luckily that part is covered by a color stripe.
