Silverado 281 Posted April 15, 2018 Hi all, this is my first post on the forums here and the 1:10 build of the mighty Lancia 037. The chassis build is well documented on TC forums so wont post pics of that. The bodyshell has decent realism to it, but I wanted more so I cut open the air intakes and added some stainless mesh. Also plastic welded the body post holes and window mounting screw holes shut.(will use magnets to keep the shell on the chassis) The body is starting to look decent now, had major paint issues with Tamiya spray(never used these), changed to 500ml spray cans and the result is not too bad, some cleaning needed still but .. -it looks ok to me. Some decals and paint still to apply.
Silverado 281 Posted April 15, 2018 I dont get why this was moved to re release forums, I think I posted this in the builds section?
Shodog 1834 Posted April 15, 2018 That body came out looking nice. Where did you get the mesh for your vents? You post got moved to this section as it’s a rerelease model.
Silverado 281 Posted April 15, 2018 Thanks, the mesh is from grease guard/ fine stainless mesh on a handle.Like these https://www.amazon.com/Spatter-Screen-Grease-Guard-Handle/dp/B016O8IXDM -Pate
Grastens 2795 Posted April 15, 2018 Hello, and what a fantastic way to introduce yourself I suspect that the thread was moved to the re-release forum because the chassis build was not included. I admit I was kind of hoping to see your take on how the TA-02S builds up. Keep up the nice work!
njmlondon 570 Posted April 15, 2018 Nice work ! Welcome to the site
Silverado 281 Posted April 21, 2018 Thanks! I managed to get the slop out of the wheels by shimming ,and installed the body mounts. The motor has been run in properly, hoping to get a bit more out of it by doing the water breaking in method. I did not like the inserts Tamiya provided, so I ordered rally tires from china and swapped the inserts to stock tires. Much better. -and I have another set of rally tires now(pirelli). Only soldering and esc mounting to do, then it is time to rally! -Pate
Silverado 281 Posted April 22, 2018 Interior is done, my first that is. really shaky hands and too big brushes -will look ok looking few meters away. Was on a budget and had blue paint(shiny) and did not spend few euros on correct matte paint so looks like the crew has rubber gloves on. whatever lol. -Pate This will be a runner and I will buid nicer body and interior later for display. Needed to hurry cause I want to drive this!
Silverado 281 Posted April 28, 2018 Tested the Pirelli ,much more grip then stock semi slicks on gravel. The stock almost slick tires were not too bad ... The Silvercan is surprisingly peppy on 2s
Grastens 2795 Posted April 28, 2018 It is surprisingly fast with the silver-can motor... and that same gearing is good for motors down to 13T! It means a silver-can will run nice and cool all day Nice to see it up and running! The 037 is quite an attractive car at speed.
waterbok 1282 Posted April 29, 2018 Very nice job on mounting that body with magnets, black poles sticking thru always hurts the eyes.

Was in two minds whether or not to enlarge the arches when I start my Lancia Rally tribute, but definitely will now.
