Ah I'll miss this one but fingers crossed for the next. It would be nice to get back for a summer meet.

I can't make the August one either,  but at least this means I'm not going to miss that lovely Madcap @BuggyDad.

Mine should be running brushless in time for the one after.

Yeah I won't get any time to work on my runner in August either, so fingers crossed for a richly stocked Junkies return a month or so later. I'm very keen for a poke around your AstutyMadcap.

I'll be there all being well. I'm not sure what cars to bring yet but my RC10 40th will probably get its first out.

Great to see some new members coming along, i will be on Holiday on this date but other Admins will be opening up and running the event, make sure you take some pics and post back here about how you found the relaxed meet, lots of friendly folk with an insane amount of cool rc cars new and old at what has to be one of the coolest clubs for miles, Robin Hood Raceway is awesome. Toilets, electric, two outdoor tracks and indoor pitting and indoor track if weather a little on the wet side. Have fun guys and hope to see you at a future meet.

What tires do you recommend? (on 2wd & 4wd buggies).

And, any others preparations I should make? (i.e. front shock protectors etc....)

I'm looking forward to this meet, I've only been able to do 2-3 hours for the last for the last few but should be free the whole day for this one.  I think I'll be bringing top force, cougar, cr01 blackfoot, thunder dragon and xv01. Apart from the blackfoot they all get round the tracks well.

I'm tempted. Might make for a nice weekend away.

The meeting is just the Saturday, right?

  • Is there anything happening on the Sunday (I'm really struggling with the Robinhood Raceway website - feels a bit unloved, i.e. fixtures page is blank)
  • Can I camp? If so, can I camp on site? (edit, just found some info on this)

There's a BRCA national on that weekend, so there won't be any racing on the 18th.

Send 'em a Facebook message re. camping on site night of the 17th.

Tyres - if it's Astro (or Carpet), from my experience:

(all Schumacher Yellow compound with medium inserts)

4WD
- Front: Cactus Fusion 2 or Cut Stagger wide
- Rear: Cactus or Mezzo

2WD
- Front: Cut Stagger or Splinter
- Rear: Cactus, Mini-Pin or Mezzo
