Ive had a Top Force since when it was first released.  I just spent $150 on parts to restore it again.  The chassis plates and shock towers are all that remain from day one, which is fine.  However its getting old replacing rear gearbox due to the braking of the shocktower mount on said gearbox after every few runs.

Anyone have a solution to the breaking of the shock tower mount?

Are you driving it up side down?

Kidding, how do you attach the shock tower, stock as in the manual?

Nice solution is using wing washers and M3 sink screws with nuts on the side of the gearbox lid. You would have to drill the holes so their isnt tension on the holes.

Ill give the wing stay method a shot. I know Tamiya dipped their toes in racing with this, what was their solution?

I cant believe some one hasnt made a metal version yet. Ill take the weight penalty for reliability.

I think Tamiya began developing the buggy's suspension back during the Egress era. Jamie Booth's Egress was a test mule of sorts that was modified with more DF01-like suspension. The buggy to look at would be known as Jamie Booth's Manta Ray. It wasn't called the Top Force yet (though obviously led to its development/introduction). I believe there's an magazine article in the archives on it. I don't recall it having anything special for the rear tower though (I do agree it seems very vulnerable in a rollover).
