dc-arena 81 Posted August 24, 2018 TamiyaBlog have the spec for it. Is it much different from the Honda chassis? https://tamiyablog.com/2018/08/first-details-of-tamiya-42326-ta-07-ms-chassis-58662-comical-grasshopper-wr-02cb/

Nitomor 2122 Posted August 24, 2018 oil filled dampers and not pogo sticks! I like the sound of two piece wheels. Will they be hex or bearing on the front I wonder and will the rear be hub or hex?
tamiya3speed 464 Posted August 24, 2018 This could be completely terrible or completely awesome. At the least I am very interested in seeing it.
nowinaminute 2815 Posted August 24, 2018 Double wishbones and oil dampers. Ironic that this comical version will easily out handle the original lol. I am intrigued though, if nothing else, at least Tamiya have a pretty good release rate these days, stuff coming thick and fast.
Olly_Lunchbox 28 Posted August 24, 2018 I'm certainly interested in that TA-07MS. I've been after 58636 TA-07 Pro chassis kit but nowhere in U.K. has it in stock so I might wait for new version to arrive.

wolfdogstinkus 1893 Posted August 24, 2018 Looks cool. I know its a parts mash up, but I like it.

Yes, but enough new parts to make me confident that the Grasshopper won't be the only version of the WR-02CB. Frog, Hornet, Fox, Buggy Champ/Rough Rider, Sand Scorcher, Holiday Buggy, Sand Rover, Fighting Buggy/Super Champ...... Which will be the next?
wolfdogstinkus 1893 Posted August 24, 2018 Is it a shorty shell?, I don't have a grasshopper. Would it fit on a WR02?

The wheelbase is 170mm (WR-02 normally 172mm), and the information about suspension arms with multiple damper attachment holes indicates that the TL01 suspension arms aren't used as on the other WR-02 models. Gearbox and frame seem to be standard WR-02 parts though. It's rather likely that Tamiya got the inspiration for their Comical Grasshopper from a customer's modified and shortened Grasshopper seen on a Tamiya gathering in Japan a couple of months ago. It 's so good it seemed like a nobrainer that Tamiya would go for it:
tamiya3speed 464 Posted August 24, 2018 I will buy one of these, just so one day they do a Fox version.
markbt73 5316 Posted August 24, 2018 Hey, that's pretty neat--oh wait, Lexan? Never mind. Tamiya's new slogan should be "So close to being cool, but..."
Badcrumble 4204 Posted August 24, 2018 I could see this in my future. Convince Mrs BC that it will be for the boy and I can have my WW2 back...
IBIFTKH 1369 Posted August 24, 2018 Sounds interesting Thinking about it, quite a lot interesting. As Mokei said, it sounds like they've fitted new or different suspension arms and from the picture it looks like a new bumper, battery cover and possibly some sort of nerf bar. Plus new wheels and tyres. Nice to see they're not just plonking a body on a bog-standard WR-02 but they're still investing in development, even if it is just cosmetic parts. More options for us to customise existing models too. Hopefully this is the first in a series of 'comical' models (I reckon a Jenny-Mo-style Sand Scorcher has to be on the cards).
TWINSET 1793 Posted August 24, 2018 Reminds me of the super-deformed and egg models - hopefully they'll do a whole range of them 1
