Possible Lunchbox Axle Slippage

Recommended Posts

I seem to have something resembling slippage while I run my Lunchbox......

While it's running, it seems to not go even as fast as the stock 540. No wheelies either.

I swapped axles with my SuperBuggy and now it works fine.

Could I have not properly installed the motor or something? Thanks for any help.

Still using the same tires with the SuperBuggy axle in there? If not, then your LB tires could be slipping on the rims.

If not that, then I would look at the pinion gear on the motor. Did you use thread lock on it? It could be slipping there.

Most LB "clutch-slip" problems can be traced to the wheels spinning in the tyres.  Superglue 'em.

Rather than superglue try putting an elastic band around the wheel in the grooves that the tyre sits in, the friction between the two rubber surfaces prevents them slipping.

I got some tire glue from my M05 NSU TT project and put about 4 small dots around the inside of each tire-12-3-6-9.

Now it wheelies like a monster!!!! Thanks, all, for the advice.
