Does anyone have any information (instruction manual, etc) for this belt drive system?

I have one in the Monstar Beetle I bought, but it is nasty and I want to rebuild it. I'd like to know more about it before I tear it apart though.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

when I take something apart that I don't have an instruction manual for, I just take a bunch of pictures.

This photo was from an ebay auction. I might have bought it, but the seller claimedto have instructions for it etc, and I asked if he'd be willing to provide a copy (I'd have paid) and he never responded. I don't give money to people who won't answer emails!

Besides, he had a buy it now price of $85 ...a little steep if you as me.

So it is Trackmaster huh, the auction mentioned Trackmaster outdrives that would make it work with Thorp dog-bones, but I wasn't sure if that's who made the diff or not? I'll have to keep searching for info. I did rebuild it, and put it back the same way but I can't get enough resistance in the diff for it to engage ...perhaps white lithium grease was a bad idea! :)

I'll have to take it apart again, re-clean it, and use actual diff grease now that I have some handy.

Thanks.

Yeah, white lithium grease is a no-no, will never stop slipping. Clean it all off and use the proper sticky ball diff grease, will make a world of difference. I have access to an instruction sheet for the trans, if you can't get a copy let me know and I'll see if I can borrow it long enough to copy it. Very simple, very strong, and very quiet trans.

Zen, You (and I) are in luck. I have the instructions in my hands. How do you want me to send them to you? Via Scans or High Res Photos? High Res Photos might be the quickest for me. Time these days is limited with work and I am about to close on a new house (hence my ebay auctions and the need for $$$$$).

Let me know. Thanks!

Photos are fine, as long as I can read them ...and I got good eyes! ;)

You can email them to me if you like: rc@zenmoto.net

Thanks a ton! :)

I have a professional SLR digital camera, so quality should not be an issue. I will try to get to them tonight, worst case, I can get to them over the weekend.

Jay, I have one of those trackmasters as well and am planning to install in on a Hot Trick Red Prince Frog chassis that I have, would you mind shooting me an email as well?

Thanks

Not a problem Tom. I am going to get to it this weekend. When it rains, it pours. I am swamped with huge presentation at work (of which I will be working on during the weekend) and bunch stuff outside of work.

I will get to it promise. Thanks!

Sorry to hear you're so swamped ...I know the feeling. No rush on the instructions Jay, just whenever you get a chance. :)

Thanks again!

Thanks Dale, We are getting read to move into a new house and rent my current one, so I have two of them to worry about and work on. Thankfully, the work presentation will be over Thurs/Fri, but has taken two weeks and a team of 20 people to put together. I usually work normal business hours, well I was at work last night at 10:00 pm (yes on a Sat).

I just sent them to you and Tom. I hope that your mailboxes can accept files that big. Let me know if you don't get the mail and I can FTP them to you (if you have FTP capability) or you can access my FTP site and pull them down yourself. Good luck!

Jay
