Its nasty stuff , but i recently used caustic soda to strip my Blazer , Clodbuster and Ranger shells,. did all three in an hour with the aid of a toothbrush to gently scrub the paint off,. I used 2kg to 20 litres of water which gives a highly concentrated mixture,. but i wore overalls, heavy duty rubber gloves and goggles. Its very effective but dont try and use the stuff without any protection!

Searching the archives will reveal tips on using brake fluid, but it's going to be hard to get all the paint off perfectly back to bare plastic that would be acceptable to display.

As youll find in the archives, a lot of people use Nitro Fuel.

I find that its great to strip the paint off to the bare plastic, but only if you want to repaint afterwards. If you want to display it "bare" im not sure.

My 2nd hand BearHawk shell had 3 coats on, one was black and i found the Nitro Fuel shifted 90% of the paint, all i had to do was finish it off with some fine sandpaper.

Hope this is some help
