I think its worth the $$$. Hard to come by and the 3 speeds as they are always "hot",I"m guessing will only go up in value. They never built a whole bunch to start with, as they were extremely expensive even back when new.

I was offered to buy a NIB and still shrink wrapped Mounty early last year for $1600. I didn't take it because I already have 2 NIBs. I wish I had taken it because I can see it continues to go up in value as we speak. Who knows, it might be worth $3500 a year from now. [;)]

I think that is a reasonable (the going rate..not what I personally think is reasonable) price for a NIB. Shame you wouldn't be able to build it though for fear of it losing half of it's value, let alone run it.

Thats a lot of cash for a box of little blister packs and a bodyshell. Thats without mentioning the postage..WOWZA [:0]

Save yourself a lot of money and buy a REAL Hilux..they have 5 speeds [:P]

To think that us racers used to laugh at these expensive, old fashioned metal chassis dinosaurs when they were current....
