Period Hop-Ups for Madcap

Recommended Posts

Hi

What's the period hop-up motor for the madcap, would it be a Dynotech?

Also, where there any other Hop-Ups aside from the Hi-Caps and metal gear plate?

Thanks

Main hop up was the very sought after TTC gearbox (standard on super astute) sold as a hop up for the astute and king cab to resolve the gearbox problems. Hicaps, lightweight weels (egress shape and design but with thin front wheels). Alu motorplate. The real hop up motor was the pink acto power I think. Dynatech was a bit old for the astute if I remeber correctly. Lots of people put kyosho lemans motors in them at the time.

Replace the plastic support posts in the transmission. The Egress and Astutes have alloy ones. Also I replaced the coat hanger wire with ball and cup and joins in the steering arms.

Madcap Hop Ups:

Astute metal gearbox plate.
Astute FRP chassis plate and aluminum parts.
Astute wheels and tires.
Astute FRP shock towers.
CVA yellow plastic dampers.
Hi-Cap dampers.
Ball bearings.
Astute differential thrust bearing.
Astute Universal Joints.
Astute hardened gearbox joints.
Thunder Shot Adjustable upper arms.
Super Astute TTC gearbox.
Formula Offset front knuckles.
Thorp aluminum inner gear mount.
Thorp plastic/metal counter gear (48p/64p).
Thorp spur gear (48p/64p).
Thorp ball differential gear (48p/64p).

these should be all possible hop ups I remember.
Keep in mind that often the Madcap parts were hop ups for the Astute.
For example the front and rear arms, the rear hubs, the shock tower mount, the front bulkhead.
