I got this one fairly sorted out this summer. Having just figured out how to attach photos I figured I may as well share.

Chassis started out as a CC-01 UniMog 425 kit that my son built last year and lost interest in after he built my Optima. I narrowed the chassis on the table saw by about 5-10 mm on each side

I made some shorter rear links out of abs. From memory about 25 mm shorter. Here is the body just set on the frame to check wheelbase and begin sizing new bodymounts. Wheels are printed. CW-01 pattern front with CC-01 backspacing and mounting pattern.

Here is the bare frame with wheels. Side and front/rear of chassis have been trimmed to fit beneath the Lunchy body

The chassis was very capable with my daughter following my Super Clod around on the trails for some test running. The ATU tires with the new shorter wheelbase made it nearly impossible to get hung up. I had to design some front and rear pieces to close off the chassis because with all the missing material it got very flexible (the cut chassis). Also visible here are some revisions to the original body mounts because some tying in to the wheel well was necessary to keep the long extensions from flexing to much. One screw is threaded into the rear mounts besides the stock factory hex mount where the original mounts were attached. It was important to me to not have to drill new holes in the body for attachment. As it sits now, the side pipes retain the battery and the body is it the final position. On thing to note, I did not plan to use body pins to hold the shell on. The shell fits over the pegs and is held on by tension. All printed parts are done in abs and are reasonable strong. With a seven year old driving the most damage has been to the rear axle where the splines had gotten stripped from the ring gear in the differential. Too big tires plus her figuring out the end point adjustment on the transmitter meant too many wheelies and a quick death to the locked rear end. I didn't glue the tires to the rim, held on by friction. Built a new rear end, still locked, haven't had a problem since.

The chassis works pretty well like this. Will climb over nearly anything, keeps up with my Super Clod pretty well. It is too quick when the EPA for the throttle is turned up all the way. Anyway, some flex shots.

There is more weight in the rear so it makes sense that there is an extra tape roll width 3/4" inch of articulation.

Haven't done it yet but I intend to either make new side pieces to enclose the cut chassis, or make a new, shorter tub. Gonna be a bit for that though. I have a few other things brewing and this one works so why take it apart?

Hopefully someone will see this rather than starting a new thread.

What is a good setup to do POV recording on the bench and for running vids? I made a few yesterday with tripod but the view was much too close up, incidentally I also need to learn editing software because what came out was rambling garbage.

Most of us drive with one hand and record with the other.
