Ultimate TB01 Slow Build.

Yes, TL01/M-03 upright will be significiantly wider, as they are designed to stick out of rims so small diameter rims can be used. Long span arms have pivot point inside of wheel.

How wide is space for uprights in rear arms? If it's 12mm, TA04 uprights won't fit - they are ~16mm wide, if I remember correctly. Maybe TL01LA uprights might be right choice? They appear to have right shape and they also should have some toe-in

Or, you can go by way of long CVDs - TRF415 and TB Evo5 with reversible arms used 48mm swing shafts, from what you've said, they should be perfect fit. Wheel axles can be used from TRF414.

Good question on the width of them. I don't know without measuring.

Interesting what they did with the extra bolt on part on the TA06

These are off a evo III, 2° toe by the looks of it.

Nice parcel arrived with 2degree uprights and a very special limited edition clip from Svenb. Cheers mate.

And a parcel from RC Echo which has plenty more 5mm alloy ball mounts and TA04 upper arm adjustable knuckles.

This build may slow down even more now.... The Outer Worlds has been released on the Xbox lol.

Doh!

Can you trim a bit off the sides?

Well... I got a spare 2 minutes. The rear uprights are 15mm wide. The rear arm is 12mm wide. Safe to say they don't fit. Lol.

Very tempted too and then I’ll pick up some correct ones down the line.

Am I right in thinking that the TB01 long arm suspension set is the same as the TB evo?

I should know this 🙄

Evo 4 onwards have 2.6mm hinge pin. They won't fit.

Yes and different bearing size, but could drill 2.6 to 3mm

Tried to trim some off with a Stanley knife, proper hard plastic, give it up a bad idea.

Slotting disc in a angle grinder to sand it down!?

A bit extreme but does work.

Right, on my iPad now, so a little easier to upload pictures.

As per suggestion from @Honza I  very luckily found some TL01LA hub carriers, front and rear, yesterday they arrived.

So I made a start on the rear suspension and hopefully the 39mm cvds will fit which is the whole reason I’ve spent ages trying to find a solution that works.

Rather than using the fixed upper link from the TL01 I’ve opted to use some from the TA04 upper arm set that are adjustable.

I decided to to change the front upper extra braces from adjustable to less easily adjustable and used the adjustable threads on the steering linkages instead.
