Baddon 860 Posted October 25, 2018 I managed to get a job lot of Madcap Parts including a shocks and a shell (the bits I need) on eBay BUT (there has to be one with me of late an eBay!!!!!) the seller came back to me saying the postage was £17 and they only allowed £10 on their listing. mmmmmm, my helpful answer was who are you sending it with? Try Parcelforce 48H as I sent a Traxxas T Maxx (massive nitro monster truck) tracked signed for with £100 insurance for £16 - If you drop it off at any postoffice. The reply was DPD. I have not replied and they have still not posted it 5 days later!!!!! Its not really my problem that they undervalued the postage, its theirs. BUT I do still want the parts. What would you do? They are a vintage seller who specialises in cloths. So surely they know how the "game" of auctions work?
taffer 948 Posted October 25, 2018 I would say to them you'll meet them halfway at £13.50 shipping which you'll pay after you get the tracking number!?! Anyone who sells on ebay (inc me) have all experienced times like this with auctions, when they happen you've got to accept it and get it right the next time. so really they should honour the deal, but because you really want the parts you could offer the compromise? I use collect plus these days, a £16 royal mail / parcel force parcel would cost £8 approx
TWINSET 1793 Posted October 25, 2018 Suggest they try Parcel2Go for pricing too - They're a lot cheaper than Parcel Force's website for Parcel Force! I've used them loads, and you drop the parcel at the post office like any other PF drop, but they offer the exact same service cheaper. It might just be that the seller's only looking at 'dpd.com' for pricing not dpd prices on an agent site.
IBIFTKH 1369 Posted October 25, 2018 That seems like a mad price. I've just had to return a microwave oven - it weighs 13kg, presumably a fair bit more than a job lot of parts. Parcelforce 48 with collection and £100 insurance was just over £13.50. I would contact them and suggest that they use a different service. Really it's their responsibility, they set the price so surely it's in their interests to find a delivery service that falls within their budget. Asking you to pay extra because they under-estimated the cost is taking the mickey.
Baddon 860 Posted October 25, 2018 I sent a polite question asking when I could expect parts so see what would happen. Got a reply back saying partner has been ill and will be dropping off a lot of items tomorrow as others have also been in touch asking.....watch this space.
Pablo68 1049 Posted October 26, 2018 Postage prices to my part of the world have been absolute crack pipe crazy recently. Can't see it changing any time soon either.
Baddon 860 Posted October 26, 2018 As N. Ireland is part of UK it just adds a day to the delivery time, cost should be no more than rest of UK. For most companies we are seen as same as Most of Scotland. Only the Highlands and Islands get a special higher rate.

Snakehands 124 Posted December 4, 2018 It's the seller's hard cheese if he listed too low a price for shipping. A deal is a deal.
