Hi,

depends on buyers, for me not.Its old an historic (first touring car chassie)and i think you will get a good price for it but its not below #100, wich is my border for vintage. How is the status, a wreck or shelf queen?

TB01 is no way old enough to be considered vintage!! The TL01 is older!!

I thought Tamiyas first tourer was based on the TA01 chassis?? But I'm sure someone is going to disagree with that statement!!

He means with below the 100, 58001 -> 58100

Model numbers!

Agree, the TB-01 is no where near vintage, the problem is

with spending over 800, so want to have a decent amount back

is simple :)

Just sold a helicopter (rc) for under 200 euro's ,

spend over 1400 on it. Not counting small bits & pieces.

But, bought it.. build it.. Down the value..

Runtime.. not even one hour... Down the value...

Of course, i can ask ... 500... who would buy that?

I am not ! :)

With the vintage cars, its something diffrent. Some people, including

me are willing to pay top euro/dollar for a single part or a

wrecked car.

Just bid a guy 1/2 a new TT01 worth of cash for a single part tree.

Why? i WANT it :)

The trouble with the tb01, if you take a look around, you can easy

pick up parts for it. And, when there are many around, price drops

down like a brick.

So if you want to sell your car for top dollar, shelf it for 20 years, then try it again.

But i am affraid you don't have that pacience :)

RC cost money, better get used to that :)

I think the first car to use the TB-01 chassis was 58257 (Lancer Evo). The chassis has just recently been replaced with the much better TB-02. Im guessing the TB-02 has only been about a couple of years, and doesn't hold any vintage value, and racers wouldn't tend to go for the old chassis, as there are much better racers from other Manufacturers (Associated etc), at very good prices. There may be some people that like the look of the standard car/shell, and will want to buy just for the style of vehicle (one TC member bought the recent WRC style vehicles ie Focus, Evo, Subaru). I myself has a couple of TB-01s just because I liked the shell, but payed alot less than RRP prices for brand new kits, but also know they wont be worth selling either....

yea but the kit is £150 from the shop wen i bought it and no change and for an exrta £50 they are getting near a £600 saving so if you dont want it then just say so but i will get the £200 i want for it and no matter how long it takes or how many ppl i ave to rip off ill get that money!!!!!!

so if you dont want it dont say anyting

cheers paul

Thats a great attitude to take! You state you want to rip people off? If you come onto a forum expect opinions even if they are different to your own! and people will pay what they think the car is worth not necessarily what you think its worth, if they desperately want it then they will probably be prepared to pay more! But with the amount of tb01's you see available then I doubt they will... example I have one of only a pair of Tb01 stadium trucks that exist and I didnt pay what your asking for your hopped up TB01 and yes it does have many hopups on it including metal motor mount, carbon shaft, turnbuckles, u/j driveshafts, aluminium steering, oneway diff in front, aluminium wishbones, aluminium upper links, full radio gear etc

After this, i would be amazed if you sell the car

for over 50, ... with a local pickup to see if it is

any good anyway.

Now, Thats the way to sell !

You ask for a opionion in your post,

don't be upset if you get one.

Be honest, who would pay more then the newprice for a used car

Ain't a rare car...

With a pile of stuff they have proberly for themself anyway.

Be honest...

Would you buy this yourself for the price you want for it?

It's a bummer how things depreciate. I truly have a hard time beleiveing you have spent almost $1500 on your TB-01

Exactly why I dont go overboard on things like hop-ups.

I fit bearings,ESCs,sometimes cheap modified motors and thats usually about it.

I did replace some bits on my TXT with some alloy parts but purely because the plastic ones broke in the first place.

Personally I cant see much point covering a car in lots of aluminium bits as if you try to sell it you are NEVER going to get anywhere near what it cost you.

Nitro cars are even worse!

Who would by my now second hand TNX for more than £200 when you can get a brand new for about £290 from Fusion?

Ths discussion had been done before and is becoming tiring [|)] http://tamiyaclub.com/xforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19021

Maybe you should start wondering why it hasn't sold already and listen to my advice to sell the stuff seperately, in hope to get close to 200P, although I think you overpaid way to much if you paid for 800P for the stuff.

If you don't like our advice please don't ask it here, I think there exist now more then enough topics about your TB01.

Surely means this whole topic is a complete waste of time, and should be removed??, as this is under the wrong section. It appears most people have replied to the original message, and got an ear bashing for helping out??

WCC, In looking at your other post, you have based your 800 price tag on some grossly overinflated prices. If you really paid that much, then instead of getting mad at people here, you should focus your anger on the Hobby Shop that ripped you off.
