What you have there might actually be a Hornet with a Grasshopper shell. The chassis has a 540 motor and rear oil shocks, both of which came with the Hornet, but not the Grasshopper. The shell also looks much newer than the chassis, parts of which are in a sorry state, suggesting the body may be a later replacement. It also looks like you have the Hornet-pattern rear suspension sliders, rather than the Grasshopper-pattern pivots, although I can't be sure from these pictures. Wheels and tyres are slightly odd, with what might be Marui Hunter/Galaxy/Jeep rears on standard rims and, inexplicably, white foam fronts. It's not possible to be certain from the images you've got above, but they do look like standard Hornet shock mounts, as the Hornet rear oil shocks use an additional upper mounting piece attached to the standard Grasshopper chassis.

Are you trying to buy this, or sell it? If you're trying to buy it, I'd say it's worth about £15-£20 tops, as it looks like you will possibly need a new chassis tub and definitely a new set of the additional Hornet mounts that attach to it, as that broken rear shock mount is irreparable. The Grasshopper rear shock mounts are part of the chassis and the Hornet parts for the replacement oil shocks screw into them, so you will at least one, if not both.

Personally, though, unless you're willing to put some time and money into this on top of the purchase price, I'd look elsewhere for a runner. Grasshoppers and Hornets are pretty cheap second hand.

The GH was offered with an option kit which had the now Hornet rear dampers and mounting kit to go with so the owner could have bought that along with a 540 motor , so it now looks like a Hornet with a GH body ;) . I would agree with £15 - £20 max

thanks. I was going to buy it. all the grasshoppers ive seen guy's want almost new price's for them.

Depends on your location as far as used prices, but you could do much better on Ebay.  That car seems pretty rough, as said above I wouldn't pay more than USD $30-40 for that.  Body looks in decent shape for a runner, but chassis needs some work.   I love the Grasshopper, we're very fortunate that we can still buy them new.  Why not just buy a new kit?

You can get all you need to fix this guy up cheap now if it's going to be a runner , the rear wheels / tyres look fine , so if the chassis is ok then it's a good 'un , just need a pair of fronts

Look for Hornet D parts tree . You might need some hardware if it isn't already fitted , ie MD8 lower damper mount

The original GH option kit was #5224 and included all parts need to mount up the oil dampers to a GH . The original instructions mention cutting the GH body to allow instalation of said kit .

hey kev can I still get the rear shock mount some where? I might offer him 30 bucks for it

$30 would probably be fair, since you will need some replacement parts to make it a runner.
