I have 3 Madcaps. A shelfer, a runner and one for sale. I've always wanted to run something more than a silvercan in the runner but am afraid to because of the weak slipping diff issues. I also have a pair of TRF201 buggies, one barely ran, the other brand new. I can't seem to give these buggies away. Nobody wants them. So...is it completely stupid to try adapting the 201 transmission to the runner Madcap while also adding the cool TRF shocks? I'm trying to justify this in my head. One 201 set me back $180, but an A&L Lethal Weapon trans was about $140 when it was available. Add in the cost of the shocks and I might come out ahead. Or... scrap the idea and look at upgrading with Super Astute parts?

Alot cheaper option would be to order the parts from the Rere Super Astute to.convert the gearbox to gear differential and slipper.

When I get my SA, I'll take a look at the parts I need in the manual but from what Waterbok added up, the price of the parts came to $158! Honestly, if it is financially feasible, I'd prefer to go this way.

At the moment @RCvet, nothing. Someone showed interest in buying the 201s, but things didn't work out so they continue to collect dust. I also worked at test fitting a DT02 gearbox. The problem was adapting a gearbox to the stock plastic Madcap chassis would require some hacking on it and I wasn't willing to cut it up. I messed with an adapter plate, but that raised the trans higher than I would have liked. Next, I considered making a chassis, akin to an Astute one. The further I got, the less "Madcap" there wound up in the buggy. At one point I was down to using just the front suspension so I gave up. If Super Astute spares wind up being cost effective, I'll have to go that route. Not holding my breath. My Super Astute is due here any year now.

Makes sense, you were heading towards creating a 201 Astute hybrid and losing the Madcap in  it.  I have a couple Super Astutes in transit as well.

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height.  Is this what you had in mind?

Are still manufacturing the gear box clamp for Monster Beetle?
Can they be fitted with a rear anti roll bar?
      Thank you for your help
      Kind regards
